It's the bigotry of low expectations that society openly accept this. Maybe more accurately it's the feminization of society that's the cause. This was goal of the white militant Leftists/Marxists of the 50s/60s. They would say things like, "Blacks will lead us into the Revolution". They didn't mean it as in "leaders" they meant it as in "pawns". The white, educated elites destabilized their communities, promise them everything, deliver nothing, and make them a dependent, permanent voting block. And here we are.

Grocery shopping tonight was fucking amazing. I hate going grocery shopping under normal circumstances.

There wasn't a single line at the check-out counters. I didn't have to maneuver around people standing in the middle of aisles. I didn't have to listen to anyone's phone call on speakerphone. There were no screaming kids being yelled at by their parents. No teenagers hanging around the parking lot. Nobody walking aimlessly through the store at a snails pace. All the shopping carts were in the cart corral and not left in nearby empty parking spots.

I hope this never ends. EBT is the fucking worst. The concept of "free money" skews any perspective of value. You no longer measure items in terms of dollar cost, now its measured in terms of convenience. You're not dragging your ass out of bed on sunday morning to take advantage of a sale at the grocery store. Most EBT recipients wont go beyond their local gas stations to buy food to save money, because traveling further is inconvenient.

I hope this keeps up. Grocery stores will have to contend with providing real value to discerning customers instead of relying off EBT customers. I hope they put unsold product on sale to clear inventory in a few weeks, but we'll see what happens.

Customer enters your gas station and spends 20 minutes browsing four aisles of junk food. Eventually they approach your counter, arms filled with chips, soda, and snacks. You ring up their pile of shit and notice the total is well over $100. You wait for the shock of the price to set in, but the customer just casually swipes their card and goes back to texting on their phone.

Moments later, the card gets denied.

They swipe again.

Denied.

You peer over the counter and see them swiping an EBT card. EBT cards require a seperate card reader, so you reach under your counter and place a different card reader in front of them. They swipe their card, and now it now asks for a PIN. They enter some numbers into the keypad.

Denied.

"Oh shit, what was my pin?" they ask, acting like they didn't borrow the EBT card from their friend. They pretend to need a moment to think. Meanwhile they're texting the real card owner to ask for the PIN again. Moments pass before their phone chirps, and they miraculously remember their PIN again.

The transaction is accepted and the total goes from $100 down to $8. You ask if they'd like to pay the remaining balance with cash or credit. The customer is confused and becomes standoffish.

"I thought I had enough money!" They exclaim, in more of a threat than a question.

They do, the balance of their EBT card is printed at the bottom of the receipt. You show them they have a balance of over $800 remaining. However prepared foods are not eligible for EBT. You inform them that they'll have to pay seperately for the sandwich. They decline; suddenly an $8 sandwich is too expensive. You cancel the remaining transaction and figure this is the end of the encounter and begin to move waive your next customer to your counter.

"What flavor Game you guys got?" they suddenly ask.

You sigh and turn to look at your stock of cigarillos. You have: Grape, White Grape, and Blue. They contemplate their choices, but you already know they're going to ask for White Grape. Everyone gets White Grape. Underneath the counter you have a spare box of White Grape and there's at least another dozen boxes of White Grape in your cigarette locker out back.

"Lemme get two packs of White Grape."

You slide them two foil packs of White Grape and they begin carefully massaging the packaging, checking to make sure they haven't gone stale.

"Oh, yeah, lemme get a pack of Newports, too."

You reach behind you without looking and retrieve a box of Newport Menthols from muscle memory and ring it up.

You ask for ID and they slide you a vertical ID card that expired a month ago. Likely it was bought from their friend who had recently turned 21 but you're not paid enough to care and scrutinize any further. They pull out a Debit barely functioning Debit card and pay for their tobacco. You look at your line of customers as it begins to grow longer. The transaction is accepted and you try to move onto your next customer.

"What number is #6 on?" They ask, pointing at your scratch tickets.

You sigh. Walking over to your scratch tickets, you flip the card over to read ticket number to them. "What about #7?" they ask, and you continue to read aloud all the numbers on every scratch ticket until they find a reel with a ticket number as close to 0 as they can. They smugly tell you that the lower the number on the ticket, the more likely it is to be a winner. Their lucky ticket is a $2 scratch ticket with a 1 in 4.65 odds of winning (21.5% chance of winning) and most of the prize pool for the game is just winning back the $2 you spent on the scratch ticket anyway.

They ask for $20 in those shitty scratchers and pull out a pile of small bills and coins and slap it down on your counter. Before you can finish counting, they're already on their way out the door. Suddenly they're in a hurry and have places to be. They call to you, halfway out the door and ask. "Oh, and can I get the change on pump #4?".

Finally, it is over.

also I just want so say, I don't think EBT for kitchen stuff like rice cookers is as bad as people make it out to be, and I think people spazing about it are fucking autistic

heres why, people bitch over food bought being awful, or expensive, or junk, or whatever. RICE is a staple food which is cheap, relatively healthy, but its not something you can eat without a little prep. Rice cookers are 20$ while a bag of rice that lasts a long while is ALSO about that. Rice will actually extend out the lifespan of the EBT payment, mean better nutrition, possibly some shared with OTHER poor friends, ect, all for just ALLOWING ebt to pay for a single payment on a dirt cheap kitchen appliance, which the money is already paid out to them anyway

If you are really AGAINST them buying candy, or super processed horse shit, I can't understand why you'd be against them buying the equipment to COOK a huge staple.

Even if you bring up niggers buying them and reselling....they already do that with stamps in general so I just don't get it. Seems the most retarded thing to fight about for EBT, let the poor folks have their rice cookers, who cares. I'd want to see america have 1000 LESS problems than now before I want to entertain why "EBT RICE COOKERS ARE ACTUALLY BAD". The benefits are too obvious while the cons are too.... well I'm not even sure I've seen cons presented besides the autistic "BUT THATS NOT FOOD!!"

yes, its not food, its something thats like 20$ that lets you save huge amounts of money cooking a STAPLE food. So its not food but its so REASONABLY connected you're kinda being an autistic twat if you want to complain about them being buyable with ebt. I could imagine a LOT of appliances I might be against for this, slushie makers, waffle irons, ect, but a rice cooker is some basic bitch level kitchen appliance, so I'd feel gross being AGAINST people buying it if they were bright enough to plan to buy a 40$ bag of rice and 20$ rice cooker to pad out the month.

If you want them to buy and eat healthier and cheaper, don't bitch about rice cookers being an option.

Just remember you don't actually pay for it in taxes because taxes don't even cover the national debt. The money is printed to cover food stamps and the printing devalues the currency. All socialism programs devalue the currency and make you poorer. So you get taxed twice. Once in taxes and second when your money is devalued.

Right, but this will affect the profits of supermarkets, which will result in layoffs, and possibly (if this continues for too long) even collapses of supermarket chains.

No benefits will have a knock on effect on the whole economy.
