Right, but this will affect the profits of supermarkets, which will result in layoffs, and possibly (if this continues for too long) even collapses of supermarket chains.

No benefits will have a knock on effect on the whole economy.
Aren't you some Europoor faggot that clogs up threads?

I'm fine if the green line dips for a bit, that's a needed market correction. I'd rather my kids have a better economy (without 42 million people on welfare) than I did.

If supermarkets cannot survive a slow month, something has gone horribly wrong.

The only question is whether the Republicans will cede to Democrat demands or or not. Which is really a question of how much public support they get for standing their ground.

Get ready. It's almost that time.

Thankful I've got the whole day off tomorrow to watch the sparks fly.

I don't want to say businesses failing is a good thing but in the past five years my location has has three additional grocery stores open, when there were already stores at least every few city blocks. The grocery industry is absolutely oversaturated (for a variety of reasons) and at this point grocery stores are more commonplace in a lot of US areas than McDonald's are.

I live in Chicago how fucked am I, I bought some food and I'm buying a gun today because they're definitely going to the safer neighborhoods
are you in one of the suburbs or Chicago proper? If you're in Chicago proper then best of luck. I'd expect some of the more affluent suburbs to be somewhat more insulated but things may have gotten worse since I lived there.

...who am I kidding, they almost certainly have.
You reach behind you without looking and retrieve a box of Newport Menthols from muscle memory and ring it up.
this got a laugh out of me ngl. masterfully written

Of all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are "Nothing Ever Happens chuds were right again"

Why don't the republicans go for the optical win and force democrats to filibuster SNAP payments? Isn't that an option if the CR has fewer than 60 votes? That would be the most hilarious outcome.

Unfortunately in most cases Republican politicians are just as debilitatingly retarded as Democrats.

I'm in Chicago proper
The Democratic Republic of the Chicongo and Milwaukee are gonna be "Keep your rifle by your side" territory for a few days until the NG gets deployed in tbe worst case scenario. Best case scenario a couple of SNAP leeches get ventilated and the rest quit upon realizing people will shoot back.
