Everyone's saying "Nothing ever happens" and "Why is nothing happening" need to realize that mom just started dinner. Yesterday is when the oven turned on, it hasn't even preheated yet.
We have to give things time. We are in the realization stage, after that we'll come the complaining stage. Shortly after that will come to protest stage and if things keep going the way they are we will enter chimp out mode.
It's a very delicate situation right now we need to nurture it and give it time.

I’ve been seeing articles with titles suggesting that either states or some branch of the federal government is going to keep paying SNAP regardless of shut down, so assumed the happening is canceled, as foretold.
What’s the truth of the matter?

Careful, there are a lot of AI generated clips going around of fat black people in the EBT crisis.
Most of the videos in here are generated by casual racists which is not good enough for my professional racist needs.
As a professional racist, I need my professionalism to be based on truth and facts. Cool song though, I am vibing to this!

Here are some videos I have found from these tiktok links just by looking up "EBT" and sorting by newest. Algorithms will typically choose to show negativity over positivity as those tend to generate clicks, by sorting by newest that bias is removed. Videos are being uploaded every few hours and this is the only place I got them from.
Coming across genuine videos in this category is very noteworthy and should be shared here as they aren't well shown to a lot of people (unless some nigga loses their shit).

Videos range from a child complaining about taxes, a grandma flexing her non-perishbles, and some black women trying to eat the rich.



Here is a trucker who talks about EBT, he grew up on food stamps and now has a job to avoid using it. Based!

A pair of federal judges ruled that the administration has to use funds from a different program to fund SNAP. However, they gave contradictory rulings, so the Trump administration is going to have its lawyers go back and try to get clarification on just "how" they're supposed to legally fund the program from completely different appropriations.
 
I want EBT to come back, I can't enjoy grocery shopping anymore. I can't believe I am saying this. Let me penny pinch at cheap grocery stores IN PEACE!
I went to the grocery store I usually go to, normally known for being one of the few around with reasonably cheap prices because it's employee owned. Parking was an abnormal disaster. I shrug it off. Walking into the store was a true wake up call. More than half of the people in this store have never shopped here before. I saw people asking workers where so-and-so item was located, they were telling each other about the cheap prices. The environment was so weird.
This made me question, why have so many people never shopped here before? The truth is because they previously relied on EBT so they can shop at more expensive places, and avoid places that sell the same food for cheaper. The reason? I have no idea, but I have a hunch they don't want to associate with the "real poors"... or something. (I'm not even poor, but I'd rather throw more of my money into savings) EBT was there because they don't know how to control their finances. They're poor because they spend way above their own pay grade, it's a "safety net" for many. Now these people are being forced to be resourceful. It's insane. I hope over time it's not as chaotic as it was like I just witnessed.

Now be honest, you know they would see that as a pro, and not a con. They're all for a system that would allow them (there always at the top somehow and not someone else) to starve, beat and murder the "enemies of the revolution" whenever they desire.

The "Kill All MAGAs" wing of the party is running the Democrat party in all but name. The Democrats know the shutdown is hurting them, but if they give Trump what he wants the looney wing will go ballistic. Schumer in particular is being threated by Alexandria Occasio-Cortez with a primary he'll likely lose. They want to calm the looneys down before caving. Schumer is more likely to keep his seat and less likely to be shot.

No, but they don't have a choice. Their internal polling is showing people blame them for the shutdown; only habitual Democrat voters are blaming Trump. Further, you have people like LibsOfTikTok showing the world what the average food stamper/Democrat voter looks like. The longer this shutdown goes on, the more voters they lose and the more Trump can disassemble their bureaucracy.

I don't know if Trump realizes this, but he's in a perfect position to make demands from the Democrats and then enshrine it in law. If they want to stop the hemorrhaging, they need to give him whatever he asks.

Obviously you’ve got a difference between the likes of Whole Foods and Kroger, but neither I would call “cheap” in any case.
Do you mean something like Lidl, or Chinese supermarkets or what?
