That's fucking insane. When I was living in Ohio, we could go to the local school during the summer and get free meals and they were fine. What the fuck?

I remember rich kids would eat the free school lunch with everyone else, mostly it was poor kids bringing in fast food slop in their pajamas unless it was Starbucks.

went to the store today to get a few things and also because i was curious how bad the store would be. it could just be because it was starting to get dark out but i noticed a large amount of mexicans and blacks roaming the stores getting things but being oddly picky. nobody really just throwing things in the cart like usual. there was one guy who i think was considering stealing or he was just on something because he just grabbed a bunch of junk and fast walked away while looking around. so im guessing without SNAP gibs nobody can just buy whatever the fuck they want now and its forcing them to think before they buy.

i dont know the state of school lunches now but when i went they were pretty good. plus if you had friends sometimes you could trade with them or eat whatever they dont want. sometimes you even get lucky and have a nice lunch lady who just gives everybody big portions too. hell even peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were pretty good so i dont see the issue.

There's multiple messages going out that's why everything is confusing. It seems like judges are going to force EBT to keep running but there's only partial funds to distribute, and nobody is sure how to issue those partial funds so everything will vary state by state. It seems likely November payments won't go out anyways, because partial payment hasn't happened before and the systems aren't built for it.

Day Four of no EBT. My tummy has the rumblies that only the Golden Arches can satisfy, yet I'm forced to subsist on 10 pounds of rice, five pounds of potatoes, some spices, and enough eggs to start my own factory farm. I fear I will not see the end of the week.

On one hand, I'm hesitant to dox myself to kiwis, to continue praying and just tide it out, but I'm reminded of a story I heard in church about two boats and a helicopter. I'll spoiler it, so I don't clutter.

I don't think the Republicans will cave. The election thing is over so we have nothing to worry about until the midterms. We can easily keep this going for another six months as long as Trump backs it.

Great! The government shutdown will last six more months while EBT and all the other government gibs programs get funded just like how they are when there is no government shut down.
It ought to incentivize them to come to the table when republicans are left without any substantial leverage again!

The fact that EBT is being worked out and supreme court judges are on this goes to show this will have an "Ongoing Resolution" that will keep EBT running smooth until the shutdown ends.

That's because once again; the government is finding a way in the 11th hour to move heaven and earth to make sure the status quo continues despite what the current administration says.
