What do you mean fake? I know fake postings are a thing, but not for cookie cutter fastfood jobs, right?

And I didn't argue those are good, just that there are many

I suspect all fast food job postings are just up constantly, regardless of whether or not they're actively hiring. Turnover is high and actively managing open positions on job boards is probably more effort than they're willing to put into it. But don't look at Indeed for any useful indications about the job market in any case.

A story from my time on the (professional) job market - after connecting with someone at one of the big recruitment firms, I started browsing the open positions on their website. I reached out to my guy about a couple of them, and he admitted that those had been filled ten months prior. This is a firm that recruits experienced professionals - either they just leave old postings up to make it look like they've got more going on than they do, or they're just completely negligent about keeping their website up to date. If a professional search firm is in that state, just imagine what the quality of jobs data you get from browsing Indeed is.

No, sadly. Theres a lot of “ghost jobs” out there where sure, you can find the job posting, and even apply, but you wont get hired. People are posting the jobs to justify their own jobs, to keep people who are understaffed happy (“look we’re trying to fill it, keep working extra until we do!) and posting that are auto-posted and never stopped.
I just got a new job 2 months ago here in Leafland and its the same as the states. Immigrants are cheaper to hire, and the government here is paying wage sharing up to 50% of the wage to bring in Filipinos currently. You have to pay more to hire local residents, its fucked. So even to get a job at McDonalds or fucking Tim Hortons, good luck. Soon as an immigrant gets into management, they ONLY hire their own.

Theres a cure to the housing problem and job problem, but people REALLY don’t wanna talk about it.

So employers can post job postings without actually looking for anyone for several reasons. One, turns out it makes employees scared they are being replaced! Two, turns out they might already know who they want to hire but have to pretend to have a ‘fair and unbiased process’. Three, illusion of growth. Ghost job postings are a thing and frustrating as hell.

The moral of the story is that you can’t just go on Indeed and see the number of job postings and say ‘welp, there’s jobs available!’.

You have no idea how bad things really are. Most of those postings are legally gray data harvesting scams.

If you're able bodied and of sound mind how can you be jobless for 2 years bro. Are you just avoiding jobs you see as being beneath you? There are so many skills you can get started on and get a decent wage going within 2 years.
Worked 2 work experiences in the last 2 years for the full 3 months each, but I would not consider those jobs.
Both diagnosed and I fall under the definition of SSI, but outside of job help I have gotten nothing else.
Every single job I have applied to has rejected or ignored me.
I'm doing the solo capstone option, as it's the only viable path for my degree and for the moment.

2 years of applying and search for all T1 or entry level IT jobs has produced a single phone interview.
I was optimistic and tried to apply again, but it has gotten significantly worse.
Every job on the Job Center of Wisconsin has an affirmative action employer label on it now.
Can't sue as DEI still exists in the Wisconsin Bar of all places.

The site the college pays for has a single job posting in the last month that is neither T1 or entry level.
College had internships on campus, but when I tried to get one, there was no such thing.
The other sites are not much better.

Any other career path would require me to get another degree to get access to another job.
If I go for a retail job or "unskilled" labor, even if the job even pays and gives enough hours, it is likely that the job will go to a foreigner.
I have tried to look for a few stocker jobs but they pay low and I am not sure how much longer retail jobs will last with automation.
How long will jobs that are not specialized or "skilled" last for as well?

Not sure what other options besides continuing my own business are available or are even viable.
Considered learning more game dev and making a game, but censorship and payment processors have been massively abusing their monopoly.
Running a small game server seems like the only option atm.

Considering this thread is EBT related, I thought I might post this here
TwiGal.mp4
This video makes me infuriated. The fact that many Americans work for a living and get shafted in return all while some single mother with 6 children was able to get a fuck ton of junk with EBT. And to top it off, she puts it up on her Tiktok account to earn sympathy points. I know EBT has already ended, but this video lit a brazier fire in my mind and I just had to get it out.
Okay so, I'm glad the lady got food "for her kids" and all, but do I see three big packages of bottled water right there front and center?

Perhaps I am just very old and don't know anything anymore, BUT if I was having to ask for help to feed my household, no matter if it was from friend, family or government, I don't think I would be showing off that I bought WATER with that money. Water comes from the tap. Hell it falls from the sky for free.
Don't start with the "but Flint Michigan!" or the "but water tastes bad!" as I will have no sympathy because the odds are against her water being poison and if it's a matter of taste? I will have a whole new rant to post.

Bottled water with food stamps. What a world.

There are also over a million women on dating apps. Those jobs are fake much like women. Imagine working a dead end job just to survive. Modern day slavery but even worse.
Too lazy to source it but I too have heard that the "ghost" job phenomena is happening on lots of the popular platforms such as ziprecruiter, indeed, etc. not just on probable spam sites or smaller conglomerates. Not trying to sound like an r/antiwork faggot but knowing these exist at all pisses me off.

Since I'm going to the junkyard by the poorer white side of the town, im going to stop by the Walmart and buy some cat treats just to scope the situation out.

So, the poor white side of town has just as many customers as usual. A lot of Latinos too, the Aztec looking kind. The carts dont look full as fuck as they used to, but there's still people shopping.

It may have just been because I went out and got my groceries at an earlier time than what's normal, but the Lidl near me was busier than usual and they were experiencing shortages. I bought the literal last gallon of milk in their fridge, the last box of boil in a bag white rice, and somehow they ran out of store brand frozen pierogies too. A bunch of pasta types were already sold out and I overheard an older couple discuss whether or not it was fiscally responsible for them to buy pork over beef that week.

This Lidl isn't even in a poor part of my locale either. If anything, it's on the ritzier side because it's within driving distance from a bunch of """luxury""" rentals near town square. I think it just attracts a more working class customer base because the store itself is hard on shoplifters and so the prices are stable. I suspect a lot of people regardless of whether or not they're on EBT are stockpiling food for Thanksgiving right now because no one is sensibly anticipating the shutdown to end tomorrow or even the day after that.

Every single job I have applied to has rejected or ignored me.

You shouldn’t allow yourself to be snubbed for 2 entire years man. Put on a tie and go knock on some doors. Hell, start mowing some lawns. Buy a pressure washer and start washing houses. SOMETHING. We’re probably derailing the thread at this point but accepting handouts because it’s “just too tough out there” when it sounds like you’re young and able to work is absolutely nuts. That has to be doing a number on your soul.

so i was thinking with how some states seem to be using their own funds to supply food stamps why do they not just do that from now on? let each state choose what they want to fund if they have the money to do so.

There are still employers hiring Americans, believe it or not.
this is true however most jobs only hire the right type of american. gotta meet those diversity quotas after all. not to mention some places dont want anyone past a set age so good luck getting a fast food job if you are older than 18 they dont want you.

this is also not including the massive amount of entry level jobs that you need years of experience in for some reason. dont ask how you are supposed to get that amount of experience in those jobs if they wont even let you get your foot in the door though.

Went to IHOP this morning for delicious pancakes when its usually FULL of shit skin in parties of 5 out the door. Today just a peaceful building of white people and families, unstressed staff, doing just fine business wise, no wait.

Seriously can we just starve and deport them all?
