ED these days consists of bitter articles written by pissed off kids with nothing better to do. Basically all ED is made up is bitter kids, they eventually grow out of the "edgy" phase and realize it's fucking dumb and carry on with their lives. At the end of the day what's the point in taking the piss out of somebody on the internet for something they used to do? Everything has it's day and I think ED's day has well and truly gone.

It is good for gawking at people but only that, "trolling plans" or seeking people to actively harrass is stupid. That's "EPIC WEEN" territory that is.

I have been on ED, and I have to agree, the site's nothing but a huge mess.

And by that, I mean that a lot of those pages are outdated and could use major overhauls and fixed images. Not only that, but several pages take way too long to load and have very little payoff when they do. There's also the problem of going overboard on the mean-spirited, toilet and racial humor, and pages that are either too short (and thus not needed) or "tl;dr".

I mean if I were running ED, I'd have to make some painful cuts in order to keep bandwidth in check (and that's because I've liked a few of their articles). But then again, I'm not running ED, and can safely say that despite what they've done over the past nine-or-so years. I think it's time to hang up the towel.

My biggest annoyance at ED is it tries to fuck with people who got better, like CyndilovesPiccolo. She stopped a troll dead in their attempt to troll her, but they added a bunch of old 2010 journal shit to her talk page that same day. LOLcows like her aren't funny unless they squeal at everything. She quit that.

Spoiler has a screencap of the exchange. The only lulz in it is some butthurt furry trying to convince Cyndi to block the Oneidus troll. I think Cyndi gave up answering the furry after they kept arguing in circles. She is actually pretty nice now compared to how she acted before but with typical autism awkwardness.

She is the only proof I've got that people with ED articles can grow out of being an LOLcow. She almost got as bad as Chris. This is why people like Chris fucking infuriate me. They can get better if they try and they don't try.

ED.... is well, something that I don't really hate or love. Most of the time I just read some articles if I find them funny. But I see the ED community as a bunch of pissed off kids that think their humor is "edgy".

The new owners had no idea how much it actually cost to keep ED alive every month, let alone in the long term, nor did they really seem to have a grasp on some of the legal problems with the site. After all the shit they gave her they ran ads on every page and had at least one donation drive, if not more. Shit is outdated, most of the images/videos/links are broken and, more importantly, most of the material just isn't written in a funny way. Nothing of value would be lost if it vanished completely.

Yeah, part of me has to agree with that sentiment. Obviously, I don't know girlvinyl or the reasons behind turning ED into Oh Internet, but I think we can all agree that Oh Internet is terrible. Meanwhile, ED seems to be a shadow of its former self. I remember being fascinated by it for hours in its heyday (it's how I discovered Chris), but now it seems to be along the lines of, "Assassin's Creed is game where you play as a Muslim terrorist who kills Americunts." Not really that funny.

It's also they rehash a lot of the forcefully politically incorrect humor way too much.

Like their article on Doom for instance is fairly good in my opinion mostly because it doesn't attempt to bash the game (since it's near impossible to critique Doom) but it talks about things like Brutal Doom and the game's modding fanbase. Which is actually a legitimate thing to document.

A decade ago, that probably would have been funnier. Nowadays, most people on the internet are habituated to this kind of stuff.

Brother, rumor has it she wasn't getting enough sponsors due to the content. Rather than shut it down, she wanted to make a profit off of it and made the website known as Oh Internet. Oh Internet is one of the worst sites in existence, man.

I personally don't think OI is terrible per say (and I remember someone posting elsewhere on the boards that OI's traffic is significantly higher than ED's, so they must be popular with someone), I just don't feel like it's a necessary resource in the same way that ED was. ED usually had more information on any given subject.

I personally don't think OI is terrible per say (and I remember someone posting elsewhere on the boards that OI's traffic is significantly higher than ED's, so they must be popular with someone), I just don't feel like it's a necessary resource in the same way that ED was. ED usually had more information on any given subject.

Not to mention it wasn't afraid to say something.

That was a quality I liked about ED was it was very anti-censorship, even if the articles it wrote about eventually just got really painfully unfunny after the novelty wore off.

I really, really enjoyed ED back in 2006. It wasn't even banned from school computers for several months! I showed my friends a whole world of crazy shit.

But I noticed when ED was just becoming unfunny, and as I matured, somehow whiny, self-centered, overdramatic teen girls who cried over stupid shit became just generic.
