Elden Ring and Dark Souls are in the same universe now I guess

From the description, and the website, it looks like it's going to be a co-op focused "extraction"(?) game in the Elden Ring setting with classes instead of the usual leveling system. From the wording it seems to me like they are ditching the open world and going with randomly generated or premade legacy dungeons for this one.

Edit: It's still too early to tell since they haven't really shown anything on how the game works. But that's my take on it.

I had maybe some mild interest and now I don't. Thanks, fromsoft.

Controversial as this is gonna sound, I'm fine with Fromsoftware trying out different stuff if only it brings them closer to doing their own kind of Dynasty Warriors like I wanted since the first Elden Ring trailer.
I don't understand who wanted this. Especially if it's one of the big announcements Geoff was talking about just because it's Soulsborne.
I'm guessing there was probably one or two dudes that were screwing around with the Bloodborne chalice dungeon seed code with Elden Ring assets and some higher up at Fromsoftware saw it and said "Why the fuck not?" It also gives them a chance to do stuff like make Spirit Ash summoner more than just a single player crutch or a REALLY shit pure support faith build so I at least wanna see where it goes first.

And so we steadily approach the ugly end of souls after II and III. A battle royale co-op game that looks like a fan mod. I have no clue why people are excited over the connected universe multiverse slop nonsense. Hoping Armored Core VII or VI part 2 is good. Fromsoftware died with Bloodborne.

Apparently it's just a fuckin randomizer mod with the seamless coop mod with no character creator. I look forward to people making excuses for this shit.

If they're going to cash in on trendy things and rush something out, deckbuilders are popular. Give me Lost Kingdoms 3.

And it's a fucking rogue-like?
At best it'd be a roguelite. Roguelikes are like rogue, thus the name, and turn based amongst other things. Something like Tales of Maj'Eyal is a rogulike, something like Hades is a roguelite despite whatever the faggots who tag things on Steam and the like think. It's ridiculous that people have started using things like "action roguelike" and "traditional roguelike" when the two terms already existed to distinguish them or just throw anything with randomization and permadeath under roguelike. They're the same kind of people who say things like "could care less" and "irregardless" and they should be beaten until dead.

you will pay for the asset flips and you will like it -fromsoft

There is not a single good AAA game company

so is this just gonna be a 70 dollar "not dlc" full off shit that should of just been put in to the full game or a heavily experimental fusion of every thing they have made so they can refine it for the next game?

If this has PvP it could be pretty kino. Instead of the boss door being a weird end to the PvP area which most hosts will have cleared anyways, the boss will always be at the end of the level and you could have the invaders actually trying to stop the cooperators from reaching it, or maybe even fighting alongside the boss.

I don't know why everyone is blackpilling. Souls multiplayer is already about doing runs through small sections of the game, this just looks like a more streamlined format for people who primarily want a multiplayer experience.

I.... don't know how to feel about this one. So big plus is that it's not an open world. I'm all open world out and I hope I don't have to play one in a very long time. So that's good. The coop thing I'm a lot less enthused by, I am a solo player for the most part. That it's doing more asset flipping without even sprucing them up much is pretty damn bad, seeing Nameless King just pasted there, I mean, fucks sake, at least update the models more. Really does seem...
I'm of full belief now that Bandai Namco held a gun to Fromsoft's head. Check this.

This was in the comments for the Nightreign trailer.
... like this. I do remember that From hired a good chunk of new people, I hope this is what the newbies are assigned to. A "quick" asset flip filled game that does a new spin for what From tends to usually release (rogue like co-op game) while the AC team and the ER team are both working on other projects. I'm fine with the Fromsoft formula, but I really wanted a new thematic skin on it. Doesn't excuse it being "memberberries the game", and if it does fill the slot of yearly game from is aiming for now to let the bigger players do something more interesting, I can live with it.

Doesn't mean I'll buy it, need to know more details.
