I have found a pretty decent farm, but not sure how it will work with other builds.

So N and a little east of the 3rd Temple of Marika there is a portal. If you use it you go to a building NE corner of Caelid. You'll be facing a gargoyle boss that won't agro you and behind you is the Bestial Church, so just turn to the left and leave to go south. You'll see a bridge and a Site of Grace, use it. So in this area are these little black guys that hit hard. The thing is my Wing Scythe can not only stagger them but after 4 hit combo they get staggered to get a face backstab to finish them off. Not sure what other weapons will work but also using the Twinblade Talisman, if that affects the stagger. You get about 1094 Runes a kill and the area has around 10+ of them in that area. Can get a nice farm going to get enough Runes to buy stone blades, spells whatever you need. Just be careful of the bridge theres a Dragon sitting on it.

Well this game seems really cool but FromSoft has decided to
A) Lean into their DS3 combat even harder so fuck that
B) Continue to make it impossible to do co-op without being invaded instantly by cheating twinks and trolls

I never even finished DS3 so I don't really see myself buying this, if I play it at all I have zero incentive to buy it because I'd be playing offline regardless.

Claymore-Chan is in my grasp once more, and it has F U C K E D thus far. My kit is pretty simple; looted Godrick trooper armor with some knight gauntlets and helmet, Claymore for regular bad boys and Dragonslayer for bosses. I've gotten used to how the Dragonslayer works now; I've been trying to use it like I used my Claymore in DS3, now I realize that I need to be more tactical and patient with it.

Game has been SERIOUSLY fun thus far, even my brother who usually hates Souls type games has been addicted to it. From really did knock it out of the park here.

Been quite awhile since I've played a Soulsborne game. The inability to pause makes playing them a very planned affair, unfortunately. Sekiro was a step in the right direction for pausefags and then From snatches our pause button. Just a crumb of a pause button, please?

Its dark souls 1 plot but with roots and the OOOOOOOOOOO ELDEN RING
Also potentially Bloodborne since nobody has any idea what the fuck was really going on in that game so why not.

It's never mentioned but you can see Yharnam (which I guess Elden Ring confirms really is Anor Londo after all) seemed to be in the process of being broken apart by trees which were presumably offshoots of the giant tree in the Workshop graveyard which it seems like the whole city was built around. Then when you see a version of the future in the DLC dream, the entire city is completely choked out by giant roots which look a whole lot like the new ones. Or maybe that's just how From models trees. But the Blight taking them over fits with warring Old Ones too. (Edit: the boss of the non-DLC area you see similar coral stuff in looks a lot like the bugmen in Calid).
Then there's this thing Miyazaki apparently ominously said about something in the water, which was another mysterious thread in that game.

I'm half expecting Marika to turn out to be Lady Maria, what with being trapped in a tree, since I always suspected the Bloodborne tree grew out of her body (and the Doll probably carved from its wood). Nobody spoil me if I'm wrong though

Bloodborne plot wasn't hard to understand, it was just a classic case of I-IS THAT A GREAT ONE????
SAVE ME OLD BLOOD, IM GOING INSANEEEEEE
What i am getting tired of is miyazaki just reusing the same dark souls plot filled with member berries, clapshit and hecking chungus berserkerino references for all fromsoft games
Which is a shame because i enjoyed sekiro distancing itself from souls and doing its own thing

I wonder if it's possible to mod the game to fix this clear oversight.

If so, someone should put one up on Nexus with just a barebones "what it does" description, no disclaimers, and no forum moderation and see how quickly the seething starts.

No, you see the game will gender you based on the body type you picked, the male one means you are a he, and the female one means you are a she.

No ugly trannies being able to make a character that looks like themselves and still be called female.

Gender based solely on biological features!

Based as fuck.

Any tips for Godrick, and the tree knight? I’m stuck on him and I iust started dicking around elsewhere. I also got frustrated with the greatsword and zhweihander and went full basic bitch and got a longsword.

Kind of regret going with confessor instead of the mage hybrid class.
For Tree Knight, I got the talisman charm thing that gives you a boost to mounted damage, then just hit and ran on him until he died.

For Godrick, I found that I was always getting caught by his AOE, so I always backed away when I wasn't dodging into him or trying to punish him.

Bloodborne plot wasn't hard to understand
All these games have a shitload of item description/dialogue/obscure map detail archaeology beyond the surface-level story, and Bloodborne is the worst of them with a translation that doesn't help. You can enjoy em just fine without connecting the dots but they're there.

Not sure if you want to hear this but Learn-2-Parry. I am really happy that the parries in this game feel way better than DS3. Try to smash him a few times and then parry the first attack and whale on him a bit but not enough to trigger the phase change and then parry him so that he switches phases with as little health as possible. You can get a bunch of attacks in while he buffs up but be prepared to haul ass when he does the new and improved winter storm that he will always follow up with that dash attack.

Just try to evade all the cuh-ray-zee shit and get your parries down and you'll be fine. Getting some free attacks in from behind when he does his ice breath attack is good too. Plus you feel like a total badass doing it. I didn't do many charged attacks because he's too agile.

I have to say the game's performance on the PC has been underwhelming. Stutters abound, random frame-rate drops, and settings that appear to do nothing when adjusted as far as I can tell. Really, really need another patch. I nearly shit myself when I first installed it without the latest drivers because the game literally kicked me out saying it didn't work good enough.
Haven't bothered with parries yet, mainly because I am stuck in the ds1 mindset of "bigger enemies are impossible to parry", which is funny because I did bother learning how to parry in DS3.
Does the round leather shield still has an increased parry window?

60 fps spergs btfo’ed.

Play it on PlayStation 4, not pro just the regular one, literally no bugs.
I don't think the game's logic is tied to framerate like it was in the first Dark Souls. Haven't had a huge amount of bugs and am playing at 60 fps on PC. Worst I get is rare crashes.

If anyone else has gotten past the boss in the area after the capital city can you please tell me how the fuck you managed to kill him? He's bullshit, straight up one shots you with no possibility of dodging his attacks and you can't even block some of them.

Yup, not even at the first castle yet and I'm as bad as I remembered. Will most likely need help down the line. Then again, I'm pretty low-leveled, so I guess for now I should just focus on grinding and buying more helpful stuff.

I hate to be that guy but I'm getting really tired of enemies that just keep attacking. The attacks are timed perfectly to fuck you over if you dodge and you always have to 2nd guess when it's safe to attack or not. This game is making me yearn to fight the Pontiff from Dark Souls 3 again. I'm just sick of it at this point.

Agreed, get a shield and invest in endurance. Dodge rolling is heavily punished this time around.

Welcome to every Fromsoft game post DS1. I don't know why they keep fucking doing it but they do. I remember playing DS1 when it came out and after returning to the asylum and fighting the torch wielding undead who would insta stunlock you with an attack that lasted 45 fucking seconds so even if you blocked it you were fucked and thinking they were the most annoying enemy in the game.

Then DS2 came out and half the enemies were like that, then Bloodborne came out and every enemy was like that, then DS3 came out and every enemy was either that or did the tired as fuck pause combo. At least they finally learned there's no reason to require you to go to a hub to level up. Don't know why they've regressed on every improvement Dark Souls 1 made over Demons Souls. All that being said Elden Ring is so far better than any of their other games post DS1. Bloodborne is overrated shite and I'll never understand why it's so beloved.
