Did you actually fight this boss? because her uber Kill a Kill combos when blocked by a shield will take her from almost dead to full health. Blocking is the second shittiest way to fight this boss behind just putting the controller down and letting her kill you.Literally just get a shield for Melania. She’ll do some chip damage and recover health, but her combo is meant to be blocked. The area in front of her is a wall, it’s bullshit.
Apply frostbite and use a spirit summon if need be.
I did. I usually dodge the first volley and then block. It’s a DPS race, but she can recover health. It’s anti-fun, but once you understand you just need to bullshit as much damage within seconds it becomes much easier.Did you actually fight this boss? because her uber Kill a Kill combos when blocked by a shield will take her from almost dead to full health. They are all called hero's graves. What crypts have that giant thing on wheels that you can't really kill unless you use an arrow on pots? I know there's at least 2 but I forget where the 2nd one is. This is why it would be nice if the maps at least showed you when a boss was dead in a crypt.
Easy way to tell if you beat the boss is port into the dungeon, if you can port out immediately from the Site you beat the boss. But there are some dungeons with two bosses though so have yet to test out the port thing on those. What crypts have that giant thing on wheels that you can't really kill unless you use an arrow on pots? They're guarding the caravan that's a bit southwest of the "Inner Consecrated Snowfield" site of grace. If you beat both of them you get their armor set, I believe.....There's two? I encountered just a single Cavalry while in someone else's world in that place so I assumed when I killed one in mine that was it.
Beat Radahn earlier, though it didn't feel entirely satisfying since the summons did most of the work for me and I ran around just trying to stay alive the majority of the time. I liked the gimmick of the fight though.
And man, I know it's pointless to get attached to FromSoft NPCs, but seeing them die left and right is pretty sad. Lost D, Thops and Rogier today, and I've already spoiled it for myself that Alexander and Blaidd die too.![]()
Alecto was the first boss in a long while that made me go full melee to defeat (I am running a faith build), simply slapped cold damage into two longswords and powerstanced them, one of them had bloodhound step because fuck rolling in this game.I hate Alecto
I hate Alecto
I hate Alecto
I hate Alecto
I swear I have to respec again for Comet Azur 1-shot + get the infinite FP flask just for her
Bloodhound step makes scarlet rot swamps and lava a breeze. Your best options equipment-wise are talismans that increase (I think) immunity, there is one that just increases immunity and another that increases all 3 "resistance" stats. So is there any real way to navigate the scarlet rot cave or does it rely entirely on bullshit jumps? Because back jumping through scarlet rot seems to be the only efficient way to cross large swaths of it and rolling causes it to build up faster. There doesn't seem to be any real immunity armor that slows it down to such a point where it doesn't still build up fast either.
I've been going around getting every single unique item and every type of boss or sub boss just clearing everything out before I do a second run.
You can just avoid the entire attack, and then it isn't a DPS race or anti-fun. You do you I guessI did. I usually dodge the first volley and then block. It’s a DPS race, but she can recover health. Bruh, the bubble noises when it breathes the blue flame thoCan confirm. Ancestor spirit's theme is absolutely haunting and beautiful.

She heals less against a 100% block, more like a third or half maybe. Personally I recommend this approach. She's not hard to do damage to so you'll make it up easily and being able to consistently not die just by holding a button is more reliable and takes less investment than learning to dodge and starting over whenever you fuck up.Did you actually fight this boss? because her uber Kill a Kill combos when blocked by a shield will take her from almost dead to full health. I ran double bloodhound for quick getaways. Her phase one is pretty easy as is two. Her shadow clone bullshit is something I've never learned and I just summon the nightsisters in phase two while I throw rocks at her. Got her after the 10th try first time around, 2nd time was easy. The Haligtree is my least favorite area though, I get it's a place for the unwanted, but too many annoying enemy types.Alecto was fun for forcing me to fight for real again after passing the point where my incants were useful. She just feels like a fast but regular souls boss with no particular annoying gimmick that means you can't just slap and roll for once so I like her.
I'd add to the Malenia tips that you might be better off avoiding the riposte if you parry or get a regular poise break in favour of just whacking her a bunch more times while she's stunned. Especially if you're applying bleed or something. The stab damage felt wimpier in comparison to me and this applies to a bunch of other bosses as well, but I'm sure it depends on your setup and weapon critical factor.

Drawing things out helps with learning all her phase 2 bullshit as well. Considering I've seen people say their only hope to beating her was hoping she never did that attack, even if she fully healed (but she doesn't, though maybe stacking phys defence or something helped?) you'd still be giving yourself multiple opportunities to fish for such a window.
The beginning triggers my dodge anxiety, also Pedolord of Analblood Mohg has a fucking dope track full of harpsichordist cum & retardedly good compositionI'm pretty mixed on ER overall, but this is without a doubt my favorite boss battle track from any game period.

They were fun for the one-time gag of thinking they're just turning invisible since they vanish for so long, only to have them teleport behind you in some place they couldn't possibly have reached and wreck your shit. A+ From comedy which thereafter totally justifies learning their max range and cheesing the fuckers from a distance.Same goes for the dual wielding misty-step anime knights that track you through out their teleport.
I wasn't a fan of the haligtree either, the first bit was specially painful due to the bigger misbegotten having SO MUCH FUCKING HP, I groaned anytime one showed up. Then I saw the crystalians and I said "Not doing this shit" until I noticed the snails.I ran double bloodhound for quick getaways. Her phase one is pretty easy as is two.
