PrescientWhat's the point of promoting this as a collaboration with George RR Martin when literally everything about it looks like From Software's standard dark fantasy worldbuilding? Even the name is gay. Just call that shit Dark Souls 4.
I played a tiny, tiny bit of Dark Souls 1 on Xbox and 2 on PC cuz it was on sale, and it's hard as shit to me. It's awesome though. It's appealing to me in a way that Dark Souls didn't, I think because of the open world. I like having space to run away from guys when they team up on you so I can back off and figure shit out.I don't get why people are complaining that the game is so fucking hard, are you doing any shit at all before moving on?
If anything I'd say it's the easiest soulsborne game so far, no need to actually farm shit as long as you clear the shit there is to clear. I've rarely died more than like, 2 or 3 times to bosses and often I fucking steamroll them on first try. If anything they made it too easy.
why not just cast spells from horseback and if they are dodging too much use Rock Sling instead. You should definitely give Dark Souls and Bloodborne more of a try once you are done with this game, they are more polished and better in sense (one has aged and I don't mean polished in terms of graphics, I mean in terms of gameplay) but this is very much a continuation.
And in Elden Ring you can absolutely run into guys way too early that will absolutely wreck your shit and ranging from 'I shouldn't be here right now' to 'FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK' franticallyrunningrolling away
But yeah honestly the hardest thing for me in this game are the fucking sections with those skeleton wheels going down the hill, those are fucking brutal. And the night cavalry bosses, because I only use short swords and magic and apparently I need to git gud with spears and shit so I can horseback fight better.
Rock throw is wrecking them. If you have under 40 wisdom - use meteor staff, it has highest scaling and 98% boost for gravity sorceriesAnd the night cavalry bosses, because I only use short swords and magic and apparently I need to git gud with spears and shit so I can horseback fight better.
it's unironically easier to fight most horse bosses on foot because torrent tries to kill you if you nudge the thumbsticks wrong.I guess I could I just find it tedious
I mean I beat all three tree sentinels on foot lol
I have 59 INTRock throw is wrecking them. If you have under 40 wisdom - use meteor staff, it has highest scaling and 98% boost for gravity sorceries
Except if you try to fight most dragons solo without a gimmick to take their focus off of you, because their AoE is way too fucking brutal and there's always one you can't run away fromit's unironically easier to fight most horse bosses on foot because torrent tries to kill you if you nudge the thumbsticks wrong.
I can't believe that they have not, on any level, started work on or even had discussions about a Bloodborne sequel.open world Bloodborne sequel
It deals physical damage. Since these nazguls are resistant to magic damage, rock throw is quite nice. I had 62 int and with three rocks it took 7 casts to kill horse and 5 more to finish rider. Also, queen's staff is greatI should try rock throw again because when I first tried it it had shit damage
The Meteorite Staff is really good, 272 "S" scaling, staff for the beginning to mid game. And it boost spells like Rock Sling.I have 59 INT

Yeah that's pretty much my exact strategy, except often I don't even get off the dragon, I go wing leg leg leg wing, jump away not to get tailed, run some distance until the breath is done, then let's go and do the same thing over again. Most dragon fights aren't too bad if you are on foot and focus their feet. I only get on torrent for dragons when I am far away and they use their breath attack, and that's just to run to the side at an angle toward them, so I can jump off and start beating their feetses to death.
I just go guerrilla. No lock on. Run in when there's an opening, do a jumping attack, keep running, turn around, rinse repeat until the dragon's dead. Fortisax teaches you how to deal with any dragon without Torrent very quickly.Yeah that's pretty much my exact strategy, except often I don't even get off the dragon, I go wing leg leg leg wing, jump away not to get tailed, run some distance until the breath is done, then let's go and do the same thing over again.
I don't want to buy a PS5, though. Also if From doesn't seize on this momentum and make the open world Bloodborne sequel everyone wants they are absolute morons.
Yea the fact you need 12 Stone to just get +3 added to your weapon is a little PITA if you dont explore. Granted you can just buy the stones from the Twin Maidens eventually but the final set is after Godskin Duo which is an even bigger PITA. Also there is the issue of do you want to do Redmane Castle or not to get the 3/4 Mining Bell.Second playthrough, now as a melee character and I can see why people struggled on Niall, his two knights can kick your ass and Niall's jump attack has a delay, in the end I got the timing for that down but I kept getting hit by the followup. I did remember the miquella's branch bit people mentioned in this thread so I tried it, it feels good to turn the summons against the boss but charming them to begin with was a pain since the animation is so long that I keep getting knocked out of it.
On top of all Niall can inflict frostbite and the arena where you fight is rather small plus no torrent.
One criticism now that I am not exploring everything like in my first playthrough: getting upgrade materials is a pain in the ass, I really hate how I can have a dozen smithing stones/groveworts 1, 2, 5 and 6 but next to no 3 and 4s.
I feel this isn't as big of an issue with Somber stones since you only need one of the appropiate level and you are done. So stumbling onto a single stone while exploring a side path is enough to keep upgrading your weapon, meanwhile with regular stones you might need as many as six for a single level so you NEED to go to a mine dungeon (and also consult the wiki to see if it actually has the stone level you actually need)
Groveworts require a single one to level your ashes so they aren't as annoying.
I can't understand why they felt the need to make regular weapons go to +25, it feels like you really need to go out of your way to get the needed stones for it. I am aware "special" weapons always capped out lower than normal weapons when it came to upgrades in the souls games, but this time it is just stupid, should have made them cap at 15 or maaaybe 20.
