Found Malenia, regret fighting her as a glass cannon mage. Can't even fucking hit her properly.
I tried for a week to beat her solo as a Mage. The only thing that hits her consistently, solo, are the moon spells if you keep her at a distance. I just gave up and beat her the first time when I summoned Black Knife Tiche for the second phase.

Edit: Not sure about Comet Azur and Meteor of Astel, was also doing a playthrough without using them and the 0 FP mix.

I re-balanced stats so I'd have way more health without losing any Int. So far, Tiche is by far the most devastating option available to me, and assuming Malenia is aggro'd to her, Ranni's Moon + Ice greatsword spell will frostbite her, and then I can reliably bully her with the Gavel spell. Now the problem is surviving the opening hit to phase 2.

Taking a break for now though because I don't want to not have fun, so I'd prefer to cool off and try again tomorrow.

Honestly if you can't kill her fast in Phase 1 better to go slow and steady solo and after dodging her Phase 2 opening slam Summon Tiche for Phase 2. What weapon are you using?

Oh fuck, this was just about the last studio who's games I enjoyed and weren't full of social justice, gays, and bullshit micro transactions.

Maybe anti capitalists have a point. Elden Ring but made by California troons sounds terrible.
They’re already halfway there with some of this story and the community that’s been attracted to the game now. I knew this was coming, but maybe we’ll get one more good game if it turns out the acquisition is true.

OK so how is it that Pantsu Trader is not banned but the people who pick the item up are?
From’s stupid ban habits are why I’m holding off on using mods (even though I specifically bought the PC version for them). They hardly ever ban for legit shit like trainers online or something.

It’s like how Neople is about DFO. Put the game on Steam, then ban you for launching it with Steam.

Before I inevitably end up fucking myself over with stats is there a way of respeccing at any point in the game? I THINK I'm choosing right with Vigor:Strength at 3:1 but I have no idea what the other stats really do and get the feeling I'm gonna get 1 hit KO'd by something because I fucked up faith or something.

EDIT: Also the game is really fucking fun, it's hard as balls but I'm gradually getting better to where I can comfortably take out entire patrols without getting hit. It ALMOST makes me wish I'd played a FromSoft game before but hearing that they were rigid and relied on beating a boss before you continued means I'll probably have to master this before even touching that.
Vigor:Strength at 3:1 isn't necessarily great. Early on you'll have more hp than you can easily heal, and you'll be attacking slowly.
Fortunately, it's very easy to respec once you beat the major dungeon in the middle of the second area. It does require a resource that doesn't replenish, but you get about ten to fifteen of them over the course of the game.

Note: Possibly disregard softcaps, may be wrong or nonexistent.

To give the super quick explanation on each stat:
Vigor: Increases HP
Mind: Increases FP (think Mana), most important softcap at 50/57/60
Endurance: Increases Stamina and Equipment Load. being under 30% gives you fast dodge rolls, under 70% give you medium rolls, under 100% gives you fatrolls. If you're going above 70%, you might as well go for 99.9%. Most important softcaps at 50 for stamina and 60 for Equip.

Generally speaking, people will pick two of the next five stats to level, and only raise others to the minimum of wielding weapons effectively. Every weapon's stats will have somewhere how well they scale with these stats - E is the worst, S is the best, and a dash means it doesn't scale. You can use ashes of war to change the scaling.

Strength: Increases damage, scales better with heavier and more straightforward weapons like hammers, big swords, etc. Also works well with Fire scaling, and increases Physical defence.
Dex: Increases damage, scales better with faster, lighter and more fancy weapons like Flails, katanas, daggers etc. Also works well with Lightning scaling. Has a bunch of small fringe benefits, like improving cast speed slightly.
Intelligence: Unlocks Sorceries and weapons associated with sorcerous magic, and is the primary scaling stat for them. Sorcery and int-scaling weapons have primarily magic damage and frost damage, as well as a little bit of fire damage through their magma spells.
Faith: Unlocks Incantations and weapons associated with holy/shamanistic magic, and is the primary scaling stat for them. Incantations and Faith-scaling weapons have primarily Holy and fire, as well as a bit of lightning damage, and also has a lot of healing and defensive spells.
Arcane: Increases item discovery rate. Also scales with weapons associated with Bleed and Poison, and a subset of Incantations. things that scale with arcane are rare but tend to scale very well.

People who pick up the item are still running the anti-cheat, which immediately flags an item they shouldn't have. The guys hopping around have turned off or bypassed the anti-cheat, because it's a useless piece of shit, and so they never get flagged by it.

Carian Royal Scepter, but I might swap it out for the Lusat's for the extra damage.

Depends on what spells your using. The Moon spells do track her if shes far enough away, but if she gets close there's a chance for it to miss if you can't get her to walk into it. And that Scepter boost moon spells and doesn't increase the FP cost like Lusats does. I beat her with just Both Moons and Great Glintstone Shard with a side of a Dagger with Bloodhound step. Just open up with 2 Ranni's then use Renala's till the Frostbite runs out and switch back to Ranni's. Then Phase 2 Dodge the opening dive summoned Tiche then used Ranni's again to apply frostbite then use the Glintstone. Use Bloodhound to keep the distance or get through Waterfowl/Phantom Slash thing. Granted this was after around 100 attempts solo so your mileage may vary.

Vigor: Increases HP, most important softcap at 40/60.
What in the fuck are you talking about, there is no softcap at 40 vig and it continues to scale extremely well even past 60. the only reason why you don't go past 60 is because once you hit 60 you need to start investing in damage stats, FP and carrying capacity unless you're running a VIGMAX gimmick build.

I still can't believe that there's still a contingecy of people who unironically think that the 125 meta should stick when we already know most damage stats will scale with no diminishing returns all the way up to 80, and strength getting scaling PAST 99 if you take the stat all the way to 80 and 2hand your weapon. The meta really should be closer to 150/ 160.

Arcane: Increases item discovery rate.
Huh, so if I'm absolutely atrocious I could just fuck around in the first few areas farming weapons with that and selling them for money to upgrade.

I've already hit the point where I can only really heal for 1/3 of my health bar at once so I'll probably just either hoard the money or start diversifying a LITTLE and seeing how I can gradually change things. I think I've ended up with a heavy load by accident anyway so lowering that + increasing stamina sounds like a good plan.

I'm pretty certain I'm never going to beat everything in the game and might never even finish it but chipping away at things and getting slightly better as things go on is incredible. I went from just RUNNING through that gate with the giant and the crossbowmen to casually taking everything out and dabbing on the giant.

Find Churches to get Sacred Tears to increase your healing/Fp pots. there is 3 in Weeping Penn and one in l in Limgrave.

Some guy named pantsu trader is invading people dropping deathbed smalls and getting people perm banned. Fromsoft's response? "Just delete your account and start over lul."

Does FromSoft leave these items in every single on of their games only for getting innocent players banned for engaging in multiplayer? This is far from the first time this shit happens. This is retarded. All those bans should be lifted.

site i got them off must be dodgy, my bad for not checking.

to me, i found that meta and endgame were about the same levels for me in previous games. That's part of what i consider the point of the meta - to be available fairly easily to players who have access to basically everything.

and this time, i finished the game about 155, myself.

I'm still shocked there's nothing regarding DLC news. If I had to guess, FROM/Bamco had a wait and see approach for the game and the huge success took them off guard. We'll probably see DLC in another 6 months or a year later.

I'm good with waiting. Expectations are sky high and people will be very disappointed if they release another Ashes of Ariendal with two bosses and about an hour of gameplay for $20.
