Finished my second playthrough and I enjoyed it but don't think I will be making a third character anytime soon to get the last ending I need (and am hesitant to send either to NG+)
Speaking of characters, which build would you say has better support weapon wise, Str/Int or Str/Fth?

If you mean gurranq's stone then I don't know what to tell you, I was running a faith build and that thing was melting enemies, very useful since it was an incantation that dealt strike damage.
Tbf right now I'm running like 40 STR and only 20 FTH so that could be nerfing the damage a lot due to the lack of faith investment but yeah I only get about 310ish per stone at +18 seal. I'll see where the damage is at when Im at the endgame. (Also yeah ftr I am using the seal that scales beastial incantations based off str)

The softcap for faith is 45 for that Seal and 45/30 Str, but not sure how much that will change compared to where your sitting at currently. Have you tried 2 handing the Seal to make your Str effectively 60 for casting?

There's some lore points they could expand on with DLC that'd be interesting the see (pre-shattering world, anything about the elder gods, etc), and more spells/incantations is always nice.
I want to see Miquella at least, the game feels really weird without him making any kind of appearance and all that cut sleep/dream shit reeks of DLC potential. In the context of a weird dream reality From could justify all kinds of stuff, fighting old bosses in their prime, Malenia given some actual character, etc;

Also we have to fight Godfrey, disgusting fish man or in his prime I don't care. That shit's a brutal tease, since the face under stormveil did attack Rogier.
I would say STR/FAITH has the better weapon choices for Faith builds. You get the Red-Hot Whetstone and you can add Fire (STR) or Flame (Faith) to any weapon you can and most of the Somber weapons are Great swords for Faith builds.
Doing my second playthrough right now and I can't wait to get my hands on the blasphemous blade as a str/faith build. Probably gonna cut Volcano Manor short just to grab it.

I went up the cailan study stairs and fought the bow person...but i cant go up the stairs..?

site i got them off must be dodgy, my bad for not checking.

to me, i found that meta and endgame were about the same levels for me in previous games. That's part of what i consider the point of the meta - to be available fairly easily to players who have access to basically everything.

and this time, i finished the game about 155, myself.
If you got them off fextra I don't blame you, fextra is widely known for being dogshit.

I think that the reason half the endgame bosses all do as much damage as they allegedly do is because people are fighting them about 30 levels too low; everyone still thinks this is souls 2/3 and that you can comfortably beat the endgame at 125 when the fucking base game is bigger than souls 2 with every DLC pack included, like no shit the dev team expects you to be 30 levels above the standard endgame souls level.

You can get an item that opens up the area more later, it is a side area and connected to a main characters quest. Head to Carian manor (Northwest of the Reya Lucaria Academy) to find the quest
I was able to melt through her first phase with the moonbeam and the physik, but the second phase was less cooperative with that strategy.
I found rock sling spam to get me through phase 1 easily and saved physick + azur comet for the guaranteed big kaboom at the beginning of phase 2.

When in doubt, Moon. You can Moon all of phase 1, for phase 2 you definitely need either good reaction to avoid everything, or a distraction.

I'm slowly nibbling away at the game and I discovered that trolls are complete chumps. There's a plateau near Warmasters shack with five of them and it's a good place for farming. I'm dual wielding knives with bleed and quickstep, that really fucks them up and I am now level 40. I also discovered that Deathbird was there at night. At first it was kind of rough(bats and sheep were suddenly attacking me from all sides) and he seemed oddly resilient so I switched weapons. Turns out that fucker is immune to bleed.

I've dabbled in the Souls games and passively enjoyed them, Dark Souls 2 most of all I think. Something about Elden Ring just ... clicked with me. I'm currently on my 3rd playthrough, and planning to turn this character into a mage type of creature in my new game plus. They've managed to create something I have been enjoying for 150+ hours and 98 % of that time has been very enjoyable.

Really been enjoying the game , got about 36 hours in so far and just beat godrick , i feeling i got from seeing him die was the happiest a game has made me in a while.
Good news is that you have only scratched the surface. A lot more to do and have fun with.

Running a second playthrough after a dex bleed build, going with full dragon incantations. OP as hell once you do some grinding.

Are you just breathing rotten breath on everything and watching them melt away?

Yes. Rotten breath, then swap to Ice breath to build up frost bite. It's very fun. Have to wear heavy armour and fat roll for the time being to up poise and tank shots while casting. It's very different than doing the whole "dodge around and proc bleed".

That is unless I do the great jar arsenal gimmick. But what's the fun in that?

You can also get a physick tear at mt. Gelmir that massively increased poise. Not sure where the one that sets your equip load to zero is, but I know it exists. There’s also a charm that grants you a damage buff if rot or poison is procced that you might want to look into.

Will do, thanks. Still got to get there though.

Use the holy water pots that you can craft (recipe from kale, main ingredient is near minor erdtrees) and you can kill the deathbirds in like 5 throws.

Do deathbirds constantly respawn or is it just once per area? Ive only killed the one in Lake lumeria

deathbirds don't respawn, there's more than one though.

There's also the death rite birds, which drop some very cool weaponry that got partially buffed after the last patch.
