Yeah as Miyazaki has stated dozens of times in interviews, Souls was never about difficulty... Though thats stretched a little thin when you get to endgame superbosses like Malenia
These bullshit bosses are optional, though. They cranked up the difficulty there because you don't need to win that fight at all

Maliketh is the exception, they should have switched him with Placidusax. At least they gave him only 10k HP which is basically nothing.

From watching the lore tubers the most underused concepts are the whole Godwyn being god of death, besides that there's Miquella and some of the conquered civilizations. So if some dlc is made then it's likely Godwyn, which would at least help faith builds feel worth it.

Finished the game solo!

Now there's only Malenia for me to kill alone. After that, I'm going back to summon spirits without feeling bad for it because I'll have proved to myself I officially got gud.

Yeah, I know, sorceries are cheating, but I don't care.

For me it was the opposite. My first playthrough I made full use of mimic tear and hoar stomp but subsequent playthroughs I didnt use any summons

New Patch dropped and now the Twin Maiden Ball Bearing Turn ins carry over to NG+...and bug fixes.
yeah new patch is a literal nothingburger. Shame, many people were hoping the next big patch would at least attempt to fix the balance
I think they nerfed the Manor Somber 7 jump even further kek. Now you actively slip off the ledge even if you're a speedrunner gamer god who can actually land the new jump

Holy fucking shit, the Draconic Tree Sentinel in Crumbling Farum Azula. By far the saltiest the game has made me. I know I can run past him but Maliketh keeps stomping my ass, so I’d rather get him out of the way. Plus because of him there’s no time to buff before entering the fight.

It's not even that he's a super challenging fight, it's that the fucker will spam the ever loving shit out of his range attacks if you aren't so much as breathing down his neck.

That’s the worst part, even if you try sniping him from the stairs he can get you with either his lightning BS or the horse’s fireballs. I’ve retreated all the way back to the site of grace and his attacks can STILL hit you there. It’s obscene.

I actually did come super close to killing him once, he only had a sliver of health left. Damn near made me rage quit.

You can't fight the enemies in this game from far away, always keep kissing their arse.

Even while using magic. Also, try to be on his shield side.

I was the same as you, to the point I swallowed my pride and decided to summon a cooperator. The funniest shit happened since I got invaded, and my aide got eliminated rather quickly. Then, I still don't know how managed to body both the invader and the sentinel within a moment of fucking dying myself.

I actually just summoned help today, I was ready to run past the bastard straight into the boss fight but my cooperator cheesed him with Comet Azure and then helped me quickly take down Maliketh as well.

First time doing this but I’d say it was worth it.

Kill Malenia legit though.

I had never played a fromsoft game before, too, But I found their reputation to be exceedingly exaggerated.

The game starts rough but towards the end it's a breeze. So easy to get overpowered.
That's every souls game, ever, including Bloodborne. They all start pretty challenging if you're new, and about 4-5 bosses in when you start getting some levels/magic/your build going you just pick up steam and never really stop. There's a handful of cheesy bosses and maybe one or two annoying poison/trap areas, but nothing is too hard.

I found the first 4 hours of Bloodborne pretty tough coming from Souls, but after you adjust to it and get some levels, same deal. Upside is the story and world are far more interesting in Bloodborne.

Elden Ring was easy on a whole new level. I didn't realize the first area had an insane number of "bosses" and rushed Godrick with no levels. Took 20 tries and finally beat him, then was pumped for how long/difficult the game was going to be. Went back to the starting area and absolutely steamrolled the next 30-40 hours of the game with a garbage build. Had to respect eventually as pure strength is really stupid, and that made it even easier.

They need some sort of optional heroic version of bosses that caps you to a soul level and adds more mechanics, or something. (NG is a joke) If you're played them all they're fun but just too easy.

Maybe some bosses could have an option for a "honorable" fight where everything is tweaked including equipment and build, making it the "ideal" fight in the eyes of the designers. So you click yes, drop the sword and shield, pick up the fork offered to you, remove armor and underwear...

Isn't that just modified Evergaol fights? You already are facing restrictions with those.

there should be a mechanic in this game that lists what level you beat each of the bosses at and using what equipment. and then you compare the level you beat a boss at with the average level of other players beat the boss at and see if your above or below the 50% of other players. if you're below the name displayed above your head in pvp should turn pink.
could also have a similar mechanic 1v1 for duels. if you lose more than 50% of the time against other players in 1v1 duels (or you disconnect) you get a pink badge next to the name displayed above your head. the badge could say something like no skill

I don't get why you'd color the names differently for sucking, though. As someone who more or less sucks, getting taken apart in PvP is humiliating enough.

In Dark Souls 2, the invasion/hunter covenants did something kinda like this. When you progressed up the ranks your red/blue phantom form would gain some slight cosmetic upgrades. I don't think they ever brought this back which is a shame because it was cool. (Plus it was a nice way of being able to tell when you were about to get your shit rocked)
