also what do people want for the Elden Ring DLC? i want
  • more mounts like a dear mount that's not as fast but can do multiple double jumps.
  • an invading item that lets you invade anywhere in the world instead of just the location you're standing at because it would shorten times between invasions and it'd use more of the map keeping the game fresh.
  • a boss where players can invade and become the boss instead of the regular NPC and get some sort of unique power in that situation. (like the spears of the church from DS3 ringed city)
  • View attachment 3419224
  • another game mode that involves chasing people across a map on horse back. I don't understand why there's zero horse riding in the multiplayer at the moment I get its to do with balancing but its missing opportunities to never have it in multiplayer.
Horse armour DLC.

By that I mean a fairly lengthy linear area where you can discover armour and barding for Torrent as well as uncover some of his lore, since we know fuck-all about him already.

Just beat the final boss at level 169. I did summon help again but honestly I don't regret it this time either, I really didn't feel like grinding anymore. Went with the Age of Order ending. Have no plans for NG+ but I'll definitely check out any lore-related DLC down the line. What a game.
That's amazing! I'm so happy you were able to beat the final boss and get the ending you wanted. I definitely understand not wanting to grind anymore, sometimes it can be really exhausting. I hope you enjoy any lore-related DLC that comes out, it sounds like it would be right up your alley.

A "linear" DLC could work, I kept praising stormhill castle on my first playthrough because I missed stuff like the godskin prayerbook or a cookbook despite thinking I was throught when exploring the place, I was surprised to see these weren't some small hidden rooms I missed but a lenghty path.
So one legacy dungeon thats roughly the size of two dungeons from the base game would work best, could make it so you start with access to just one dungeon and upon defeating a boss or another trigger the second dungeon becomes accessible (think like the inverted castle from symphony of the night, except it isn't the same building upside down) or just have both locations available at the start. With the latter you could even add some key items obtainable in Dungeon B which open side areas in Dungeon A for example. Lastly, add a few caves/minor dungeons, like three of them and you got yourself a decent DLC.
I can't imagine Fromsoft making a big open area, at least not in a reasonable amount of time, for the DLC, at most they could pull a symphony of the night/dark anor londo and have the existing map "change" with new enemies and bosses. If they DO end up making an open DLC I hope it includes some customization for torrent.

horse armour would've been cool but i try and think of DLC / mods that can actually be put in the game after its been released. there isn't an existing menu anywhere for putting armour on the horse so it isn't really something that could be added. horse armour wouldn't have much purpose other than fashion anyway. how often do you really find yourself fighting a boss while riding torrent? the horse is just for getting around fast i find.

>implying the games are about anything other than fashion

But that's a fair point. The DLC might also have to include a number of highly mobile bosses in large areas.

Also at minimum the armour interface could just be a new inventory tab with some usable horse gear. The trickiest thing may be to add dynamic stats to one mount (which admittedly might just make it not worth it).

Yeah as Miyazaki has stated dozens of times in interviews, Souls was never about difficulty... Though thats stretched a little thin when you get to endgame superbosses like Malenia
Fromsoft cant design a tought boss that doesnt rely on trash gimmicks/outright cheating
Makes you wonder who actually designed the bosses of sekiro, because outside of the shitty headless ghost fights all the bosses were "fair" and fun, including owl and isshin

What I want out of the DLC:

More cave designs, specifically I hate jumping down ledges and not using the elevator(s) in caves is exactly the same every time

Enemies screwing up their timing on occasion. I hate how the easiest way to die is to button mash attack or roll like a noob but enemies always perfectly time their combos and nearly always perfectly time chain dodges

I know we'll never get these but what features would you of liked added to elden ring that weren't and never will?
here's my list of stuff i wanted.
  • swimming (sekiro had swimming so why not elden ring? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_Wnncgz3vk ) I get that none of the previous souls games ever swimming and the general pace and feel of sekrio's movement/combact is very different from the soulborne genres but I still think swimming should've been added. i realise with the number of weapons, armour, spells elden ring has in comparison to skeiro make adding swimming more difficult but its still completely do-able. I'm not asking that my player is able to blood hound step underwater like skerio i just want regular slowish swimming it'd increase the level design in many areas to. if you're worried about players swimming too far out into the sea and going somewhere they shouldn't just add a current to the water to push them back or aquatic enemies like giant sharks. a cool spell that'd allow you to breath underwater could be aspects of the crucible: Gills!
  • 1656360276367.png
    *Aspects of the crucible: Gills
  • flying (like mostly just gliding. not completely unrestricted flying that brakes the game) *Aspects of the crucible: Wings
  • rope swinging and parkour (like wall running and grabbing onto ledges) it'd be cool the grab onto a vine and swing back and forth using the joystick.
  • more vehicles (in mines you should be able to hop into a minecrat and have another player push you along a rail. GTA'ing one of those giant head flame thrower things would be funny. using siege weapons like the tebuchet at the red castle.
  • Destructible environments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttwBelIlLv8 ( Incorporating voxels into an environment to make destructible walls and to make creators in the ground) just want more levolution like battlefield 4 had https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nM3pSaT5S0 it'd be awesome to unwedge a giant bolder thats stuck on a cliff and watch it land on invaders (i grew up playing battlefield 4. Man i miss that game)
  • Mesh cutting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-3TRGq09hw (for cutting bosses limbs off like darksouls 1 but more advanced(this is different to how voxels work)
  • Higher player count/ faster respawn/match making ( I don't care if I'm at an even further disadvantage playing against 8 other players at a time. the world as it is feels a bit lonely)
  • allowing the player to use turrets and stuff that NPC's use (why cant I use the mounted cross bow that the npc's use its not fair! how was that too hard to put in the game its literally so easy to add and yet they didn't bother.
  • more invader colours. i wanna invade as a changing multicolour phantom and show off my pride.
  • proximity chat. (auto connecting voice chat the volume gets louder dependant on the players proximity)
  • more prattling plates. WAY more prattling plates. if we cant have voice chat at least let us communicate using prattling plates. i wanna be able to say more than just "I'm sorry" or "lets get to it" there should be hundreds of prattling plates and you should be able to combine them in your inventory like writing a message on the ground. i really wanna tell players to "try finger but, hole" when i get summoned. someone please make this a mod for me.
  • a reason to revisit areas after completing them. there's a huge issue of spending all your time in pvp in just one location. i want to use all of the map.
  • more magic. we have a ton of spells but I want more diversity. I want less spells that're just a projectile that does damage and more obscure ones like breathing underwater, limited flying. vow of silence (stops everyone caught by it from being able to cast spells for a bit). tranquil walk of peace (stops players near you from being able to run but not yourself.) a projectile that doesn't cause damage but knocks players really far. a projectile healing spell. bringing back a few spells from the older games like soul gizer and vortex from DS2. an item that makes a C4 magic type explosive. i just wanna make trolling montages of clueless people being blown off cliffs. more cloud type spells like one that builds up frenzy, sleep buff darkness to make it create a massive dense black cloud that covers like 7 cubic meters. whatever else and just make cloud spells viable / last longer. a spell to lure in more enemies/ spell that causes enemies to run away from you but deal way more damage if they're forced into attacking you. that spell that the cemetery shade spiders use to hold you still.

feel free to make your own list of spells that can still be added to elden ring in the DLC using some of mine. you never know they might see this and listen.

*edit. sorry for being so messy i just cant be bothered to spell check everything and write it all up more professionally. my posts are flow of consciousnesses skizo type style. i hope you can forgive the lazyness.

so, was i not supposed to play using mouse and keyboard for my entire playthrough so far?

Have played the game in about a month , need to finish it so i can get it off my harddrive, at the golden godfry (?) fight and its been a bit of a bitch so far

Exact details weren't explained, but Ranni did it so she could tell the fingers to fuck off and let her do whatever the fuck she wants. To do so, she had to kill her body, but not her soul and to do that, a soul had to die but not it's body. Unclear why she chose Godwin or how she knew this was possible. Extremely unclear as to why Godwin mutated like he did after body death.
The rune of death completes a perfect death that kills the body and soul. So Ranni needed another victim for the souls part and Godwyn was her target.

The rebellion was obviously not Ranni alone as we've seen from Rykard. But a very big theory was Marika is in on the assassination too, as there was also a black knife assassin hiding in Marika's bedroom.

As for why Godwyn? Unsure, but the theory that he was loved is false, as one of the undead spirit near a site of grace (can't remember which, i think it's in front of one of the church of marika) mentioned that Godwyn was Marika's unwanted golden boy.

As for dlc? Since so many of you have been complaining easy, I'd suggest a Godskin trio and invasion trio to test your mettle lol.

kb+m is fucking awful but if youre doing fine with it then whatever i guess? I recommend at least giving controller a shot, you will probably like it more
Godfrey/Leyndell is maybe the 65-70% point in terms of the main quest but from Godfrey to the end its quite the marathon

I haven’t touched this game in months since I finished it. I probably should. I remember being addicted to invading in dark souls 3.

In Dark Souls 2, the invasion/hunter covenants did something kinda like this. When you progressed up the ranks your red/blue phantom form would gain some slight cosmetic upgrades. I don't think they ever brought this back which is a shame because it was cool. (Plus it was a nice way of being able to tell when you were about to get your shit rocked)

Oh god trying to get WoG legitimately on low level agape ring twinks took ages.
Avoided going into NG+2 and buying it because soul memory.
You're either beating the sin out of invaders via Blue Eye Orbs or trying to cheese the covenant summoning system with a friend in your range while they're fingered. But that takes a lot of luck.
But if you have a pal willing to help out then you can cheese the Blue Eye method if they just save scum their Sin Levels back to where they were when they drop.
Screw the arena in any capacity if you're not at softcaps across the board. I mean yeah it's satisfying to knock down a dude who can pretty much fart in your direction and kill you but the arena's matchmaking is absolute trash.
"Looks for players in your level range and then looks elsewhere"
Nah tested this with several friends in the same SM/Level range. All hitting up the que at in the same second.
All of us spent an evening getting stomped on by level 800 havelmages.
I'm 100% convinced that it's just random.

I would like to see limited swimming, I can take meteors surrounded with a nimbus of pure energy to the face but one step off a beach instadeath lol

I've done almost everything in Limgrave and Liurnia, almost everything with Volcano Manor, taken out Godfrey, Rennala, and Radahn, 3/4 done with Altus and Caelid, off to Leyndell soon... and I'm starting to really hate all the platforming that the game is throwing at me now lol. Mario and Metroidvania was 30 years ago enough with the platforming!

if you've ever been summoned to somebody else's world after they tell gold mask Radagon's secret gold mask clutches his eyes like he's died of frenzy flame.
i just love it when video game use methods of story telling that simple aren't possible in other medias. like you couldn't write this in a book if you were trying to tell an entire story from one persons prospective.

I know its too late to ask for ridable/moving pirate ships for invasions because the game doesn't support spells that track along the ground and spawning on moving objects isn't possible but id still love a stationary large pirate ship as a map. you could even add cannons on the boat that players could use to fire at each over. I'd literally be willing to pay more than the price of base game for that. to simulate movement make a pirate ship far out at sea so you can animate waves crashing against the hull with the plane of the waves moving to simulate the ship moving up and down with out it actually needing to. it could even be used as the map for cloning the spears of the church boss fight from DS3's ringed city into Elden ring. you could have multiple players "invading" the ship as pirates to stop them from getting to an even harder boss like gael. could even be a flying ship. in many ways that'd be even cooler. i just want a cool spears of the church type boss fight to block players path.

Finally beat Radahn...leading me to Nokron and stopping at the stupid fucking gargoyles...eventually went up to Atlus explored a bit and found myself exploring Volcano manor and stumbled upon Rykard. Took me like 40ish minutes to learn but beat his ass lol
