I may be wrong but, it looks kind of like that tarnished is doing a backflip here, like in DS1.

For those who don't know in DS1 there's a ring that lets you do forward and backward flips which is an upgraded roll.
i haven't seen anyone else talking about this anywhere.

Elden Ring is getting 2 new manga. One's a serious retelling of the game's events , Become Lord, and the other looks to be a romance story about a relationship between two office workers that bond over the game, See You at The Grace After Work. That brings us to three Elden Ring manga for some reason.
From soft stories only work as videogames. Someone gifted me a Dark Souls comic book which was just little vignettes and it frankly sucked. A big part of the experience of the games is just soaking the environment and you can't really do that well in other mediums. Also, that second manga sounds outright retarded "oh, I also felt a sense of longing when Rykard told me we cold DEVOUR THE GODS TOGETHAAA!".

Oh boy oh boy, if this game has it's own version of the DWGR I'm going to have to make a build specifically to take advantage of all the bullshit that flipping around like an acrobatic spaz allows you to do.

I agree with you completely. I think it was just Bandai trying to cash in and the projects were already in the works before the ownership of Elden Ring fully transferred. The gag manga was a weird enough concept to stand on its own legs, but the new ones seem terribly boring and also have worse art IMO.

I thought this was just a roll to the side and the dueling shield made it look weird.

I think a manga / comic thing could work if it was not about the main story but a side character who we never meet in the game.
a manga of slave knight gael during the first wars against the dragons would be cool.

I think there were a couple of Dark Souls 3 comics. One was a shitty one about Aldrich and the other one I think was about a silver knight, Ledo if I'm remembering correctly.

Nice catch. I slowed down the video to check but I don't think he's doing the dwgr flip. That's not a normal back roll though so unless it's being embellished for the sake of the trailer, that might be a type of mobility ring or AoW, specifically one that cuts down on recovery frames. It looks like using reverse roll tech on a backroll. Even at 0.25x it still happens really fast.
I wish From would stop adding crappy debuffs to mobility items.

I just hope the DLC finally gives us what we all secretly wanted: Pay to win elements / Battle-pass / Loot boxes / Microtransactions

The Nox also pissed off the Two Fingers and got banished to the underground. Perhaps Marika's rebellion was on behalf of the Nox?
Considering:
- The Nox worship the night sky
- The Nox were banished under a false night sky by the golden order
- Radahn, a champion of the golden order, literally fought the stars and won
- Radahn then halted the heavens and thereby stopped Fate from proceeding normally
- Ranni studies the night sky and employs sorceries derived from it
- Ranni's quest requires you to kill Radahn and go into the Nox cities
- Ranni's ending destroys the golden order and allows the heavens to govern the world

I think it's pretty fair to say that both she and the Nox are on the same side, roughly speaking.

I also think since Death was subdued by the golden order and the undead existing are a product of her stealing part of the rune of death we can safely say that she's trying to overturn or massively change how death works in the elden ring world, and that she would either be sympathetic to the undead or at the least natural allies since they also want to undo what Marika did to Death.

Ranni is simply trying not to be a servant of the Greater Will/ Two Fingers. She doesn't care about how death works in the Lands Between.

The undead were a side-effect of her and Marika killing Godwyn. While she may not be outright hostile to the undead, Ranni really didn't want that connected to her as people might start poking around and asking questions.

As to the Nox, in some cut and in-game content regarding the Mimic Tear and how they (the Nox) were trying to create an artificial champion. While I doubt that's the sole reason they were banished, assuming it was a reason at all, the Nox were kind of okay with the Greater Will so long as they could get their guy on the throne.

So if the Crucible thing is right then Melina might actually be old as shit and born from the pre-Golden order Erdtree.
Considering she's suppose to be connected to the Gloam-Eyed Queen that makes sense. The current batch of Gods and Demi-Gods are just that, the current batch. There were apparently ones before them.

I think Messmer is a son of Rykard and Tanith who was an embarrassment to Marika/Radagon like Mohg and Morgott were. But he's not an Omen, so instead of being sent to the stinky sewers he got sent to the shadow realm

Farmers who know, is the PS5 version of the game a significant upgrade from the PS4 version?
Framerate-wise? Absolutely. The difference is night and day in that regard. PS5 also has the raytracing function but it lowers the game's framerate to nauseating numbers.

In preparation for the expansion, it's probably a good idea to upgrade if you wanna remain on console. I've literally played my PS4 version side-by-side with a PS5 (when my spouse and I couldn't be assed to take turns) and it ruined the experience for me. I can't go back to PS4.

I've been trying to find videos or comments on this animation for a while now, but it's so rare I guess, that barely anyone has see it. But the backflip you have pictured occurs when you hold up a greatshield, I believe, and have your guard broken? Or a certain type of attack hits you maybe, sending you flying backwards and skidding across the ground.

I was only able to achieve it once with the Erdtree greatshield while fighting a gargoyle. I really don't know what criteria you need to have the animation play.

That happens when you block a big attack without losing all of your stamina.

It doesn't make sense because the timeline is wrong. It is implied Messmer was around when Marika was still conquering the lands. Rykard and Tanith are a much later thing.
This is just speculation, but he's most likely the first child of Marika and Radagon, born out of infidelity (if you count fucking yourself infidelity) that rebelled for some reason, made deals with all the enemies of the Golden Order and tried a coup. He failed, but the tree was burned, so he got banished. Most of his wardrobe is heretical symbolism in the current age, so he may be one of the big reasons why.
