Does anyone here play this now, in order to prepare for the DLC?
Technically you don't actually need to prepare. One of the things that came out in the previews is that level sync is applied to all DLC content.

So theoretically if you're the type of person who can beat Mohg and Radhan at rl1 you could waltz into the DLC and have all the content piss easy because it's downscaled for a level 1 tarnished.

Thanks for the info, my man.

But what am I supposed to do with the fact that all the needless grind I've been doing, on account of me being a smelly, disgusting gamer, is not needed for the DLC? How should I cope (I neither can nor will dilate)?

Pinpoint me to the exact quote, because I don't believe it and I've gone through a lot of the interviews.

To my understanding there is no level sync, but a separate power/stat (that only works in the DLC area) you can either choose to level up or not as you go along. If you don't, it's going to be harder because you're intentionally gimping yourself. Miyazaki brought up Sekiro while talking about the system. It's in place to allow players to challenge themselves as they wish, while taking into account that most players will have end-game builds and just handing them free wins wouldn't be fun. This does not mean that the DLC has level scaling.

Honestly I'm not even sure if I'll buy into the DLC right off the bat. I haven't even touched the base game in weeks or even fired up my consoles for that matter.
I guess I'll just wait and see if there's anything there I could slap on PvP builds to make it worthwhile. I mean if there's an equivalent to Vow of Silence I'm probably gonna be in there.
My predictions item wise are as follows though.
Talismans we're going to get Radagon's Icon +1 and maybe +2. There's probably also going to be +1 or +2 equivalents of elemental damage negation. Turtle Talisman +1 and maybe +2. A life talisman upgrade and Erdtree Favor +3.
And maybe just maybe Golden and Silver Scarab upgrades.
If past games are any indicators that's what's usually in the DLCs. A lot of these sorts of accessories were in previous game NG+ cycles but ER has zero reason to go into NG+ aside from the all spirit ashes achievement.

There's probably going to be some Bullshit weapons that people are going to gripe about for like a week until they figure out that they're easy to counter. I'm looking directly at you Ring Knight Paired Swords and Friede's Scythe.
Plus a few AoWs. I just want my DS3 whip special back.

I'm also willing to bet there will be 2-3 new spells/incantations per type of magic. Comet, Gravity, Night Sorceries etc.

Don't really have a history with Fromsoft games, around what level do you think you need to be for the new area? I'm guessing its not something a new character would end up in any time soon.

Ashes of Ariendal recommended level 100 but in DS3 most stats capped at 40-45.

Now that stats hardcap at around 60-65 I'd say level 120-130 maybe?

At 1:22, shadow/warped version of Gurranq?
Pretty sure it's one of these grafted Omen things from the previous trailer, doesn't give me Gurranq/Maliketh vibes at all.

the previous gameplay trailer made it look like one of those Chinese Lion Dancer costumes, you can see that it's a bunch of people standing on top of each other controlling the puppet.

Meh, thanks to current year alphabet goblins I've become allergic to fag shit. Since it turned out ER has faggots I'm not going waste my money on a DLC with more of this gay garbage.

Look, bro, I get where you're coming from, I really do, but this comment is dumb.
If you're familiar with FromSoft games, then you should know they emphasis themes over literal meaning.
We're joking around with the comments , but the game has no fag shit. Miquella was supposed to be an empyrean and have a consort, but that's not necessarily what you'd think of in modern context. God and Elden Ring, consorts, are just a thematic play. It's similar to Malenia and her daughters. Nobody fucked Malenia, but her theme is flowers and bloom and her daughters are named buds.
This is not TLoU2 where you have a graphic scene of a tranny railing a fag.
It's understandable that one becomes trigger happy in current year, but do be careful in not becoming some ignorant fool who's the caricature of what trannies think of us.

What faggots are you talking about in Elden Ring? You man Miquella and Mough? I think it's more about themes than literal gay love.
Miquella is sort of both genders because he's a cursed inbred god with split personality disorder.
Mough seems only interested in the power he could potentially gain from being in a relationship with Miquella, which is why he sticks by him even while he's a massive man looking corpse in an egg.
In the game's world, regular sex is basically frowned upon by the golden order, and people are born via the Erd tree, which allows it to keep control/influence over the lands between.
A piece of media can have LGBT+ characters in it without supporting it. That's like saying if you hate black people, you can't make a movie starring any black people, even if you're trying to make them look bad.
The only part of the game that makes me vaguely agree with your paragraph is the character creator, where they changed the gender names to "Body type A/B"
