I pre-ordered it for some reason, hasn't played in two years though I guess that will at least up the difficulty.

Holy shit I hope my save is still okay. I'll ask before I need to check, how to trigger the dlc?
Cocoon of The Empyrean grace. Talk to an NPC there then interact with the cocoon thing.

I also pre-ordered it, which is an act I had promised myself that I would never do, after hearing so many reports during the years of people pre-ordering games that were absolute trash on release.
When I was a wee, spoiled lad (I'm still spoiled, albeit as a manchild), I was sometimes lucky enough to get my parents to pre-order certain games, like when I had put "The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time" on my wishlist for christmas.
Back then, pre-ordering served a useful function, at least when there was a good chance that the game would sell like butter and the next shipment of phycical copies would be delayed by a couple of weeks.

Since I'm very much a Souls-fanboy, and since I've been more or less blown away by the quality of FromSoftserve's games since Dark Souls (even somewhat regarding the black sheep of the series, Dark Souls 2), I just kind of found myself gravitating to the "pre-order"-button on the digital store on Steam yesterday.

I really shouldn't have, and I wouldn't have done it for any other game than a Souls-game made by the current people working at the company. I still really shouldn't have, though, since digital pre-ordering is profoundly retarded, and sends wrong messages to the industry as a whole, but my inner fanboy said otherwise.

Let's hope the DLC is good enough to have made this lapse in judgement worthwhile! :-)

How are you fine, fellow farmers preparing your delicate behinds for the release of the DLC?

Tbf, pre ordering a dlc just saves time downloading it and enough shillers seemed to praise it, so it's as least passable. I just hope for not too much filler and it will manage to handle the fact you play at end game levels.

I'm in the same boat. Gotta remember what my build was and how to play it.

Might as well do it while I'm getting my shit kicked in.

I’m in and ready to twat a load of new mobs in the face with my trusty rusty anchor boyos. See you on the other side.

How?!

I'm standing in front of the cocoon, and nothings is displayed for me to interact with? :-(
At the title screen go to Microsoft store - then you can choose to manually install if you’ve pre-ordered. Make sure you’ve changed your settings location to New Zealand. Also helps if you’re playing on Xbox!!

I'm a smelly PC-player. Still, I'll see what can be done. Otherwise, I've read that the DLC "should" be released 3 pm PDT, which is roughly 2 hours from the time in my timezone.

You might need to use a vpn set to NZ if on PC. Best of luck dude, hope you get on, might invade you and introduce you to my little shippy friend

Still saying an hour away for me lads, do you think that's enough time to get my second character through them festival, and past both radahn and mogh?
Grab morning star, charge attack tear and talisman on the way to one half of the dectus medallion, kill Boggart for his iron balls and upgrade them as much as you can before the bosses, kill Greyoll with morning star on the way to the other half of the medallion, sprint up the eastern half to the lift (grabbing the grace at the bottom part), warp back to get your ass to Radahn and grab the cragblade ash for the balls, kill him and go do Varre's quest, preferably do invasions rather than the npc kill because you don't have to win the invasions and it's a bit far (near the Gelmir bridge iirc) and use the grace at the lift to get Vyke's maiden's blood, then kill Mohg. So... Technically yes if you beeline it and don't fuck up too bad between graces but I doubt it unless your dude's already got a head start or you're confident in your low level gameplay. Edit: Strength tear on the way to Liurnia as well, while you're going through Stormhill.

I got tomorrow off and I’m fucking ready.
I beat Melania like a used mule NG+, I got all my talismans, I got all my weapons cranked, I got my stats optimized, I preemptively jumped Mohg, and I even got Larval Tears. We’re going old school teenage gaming marathon on this bish, I am as physically, mentally, spiritually, and digitally prepared for the DLC as I can be, let’s fucking go.
And as of the new update, I am so happy I can finally fight the bitch ass amoeba on the horse. It makes the Elden Beast fight so much better than just chasing the coward around a puddle like before.

Kung fu claws acquired.
I've been avoiding looking at any of the leaks. The area seems huge and dense. Dunno if it's huge and dense enough to justify two and a half years of development but on that note alone I'm satisfied.

Lol I didn't have enough time to get my new character ready for the dlc so I switched to my first pc build and jumped in, left the conquering heroes' grave and zipped over to the egg and entered the land of shadows. It's quite beautiful but there's also a very ominous atmosphere, as you'd expect. Jumping on Torrent I see a map stone marker on the map and ride through the golden fields towards it, when suddenly a lanky dude with chakrams drops in front of me with murderous intent. Like an action star I launch off torrent towards him and as I swing my - whip? A whip? What the fuck, why am I holding a whip? Where are my gargoyle greataxes, or at least the serpent hunter?! As my opponent's second hit killed me I remembered that I had been fucking around with this build after beating the game last time, so my guy is sitting on 68 int 40 vig 40 mnd 30 end and nothing else above 18. So I'm off to find a larval tear.
