No. In Elden Ring, you must waste 1 to 2 hours collecting Toilet Fragments first before you even dare to kill anything. Half of the bosses have shitty low-effort cutscenes that fade to black every time a cool transformation is happening, and the other half doesn't even have that.
Meanwhile, in Wukong you get action from start to finish and the cutscenes have beautiful and detailed animations.

I can't stand the leech monsters, their homing attack that binds you in place is the worst. I'm doing the questline for Ymir/Jolan and of course these bastards are all over the finger ruins.

What helped me a lot for those was a) ditching Torrent as soon as you start seeing the pink bullets so you can roll through them and b) once you know where to expect the caster to be, approach as much as you can behind terrain features. There is nothing of interest in the finger ruins besides the goalpost and crafting materials you will never use, so just take the straightest route that meets the above criteria and you will only have to deal with 1-2 gravity users.

Really. Elden Ring is boilerplate high fantasy in most regards.
The Greater Will (Eldritch Abomination if you pay attention) needs you to fix the long broken Elden Ring in the mythical Lands Between. Why does The Greater Will want to do this? Literally doesn't matter. You, the player, must set on the quest to save the world by becoming its new Lord since the previous Lord decided to be a fuckwit after millennia of weird self incest. Additionally, other interests also want the Elden Ring for their own purposes.
So the Greater Will summons it's champions from across the cosmos. Represented by the classes you can select at character creation along with the other Tarnished it also summoned. Hoping that one of you could eventually find brass balls big enough to become the Elden Lord. The game beats you over the head with this aspect as all the Tarnished in Roundtable Hold all tell you that. Why can't the Greater Will, Frenzied Flame, Formless Mother, Rot God, or any of the other Lovecraftian super entities interfere directly? No idea!
As you go on your quest you run into other Tarnished who are insane (Dung Eater), lazy as shit and don't care about the quest (Patches,Boggart), incapable of fighting in general (Rodrika), egotistical but also incapable retards (Oden), complete autists (Goldmask), obsessive fuckwits (D, Diallos) and so on. While on your journey you run into more weirdos as not one of the natives in the Lands Between is even remotely sane. The merchants being pretty much the only ones doing anything that makes sense.
This is why the game story is good. It's familiar enough to understand but the trademark vagueness of From games means you don't have to waste your time with it and can just play a cool action game. If you want some depth you can find it, but none of it really matters. You have a plethora of build choices, weapons, and combos to mess around with. Anyone can eventually find something that works.

Well it's been about two months, I can now firmly say that I hated a lot of the lore retcons SOTE threw at us.
Marika went from scheming mastermind to an actual dipshit who spent 1,000 years being lied to by a gross hunk of fingers
Radagon is a nonentity
Radahn really was a wholesome chungus 100 good boi who only occasionally did Warlord stuff
Mohg is now a good, family dude despite the whole running a cult of serial killers thing
Malenia has no agency and was just Miquella's flesh puppet
Basically everything about Miquella in the base game is now wrong because he's just that evil out of nowhere.
And worst of all, Ranni has been more or less completely exonerated from starting a World War and murdering Godwyn because it's been "revealed" that the Fingers really are manipulating everyone. So she's now the only demigod who was doing the right thing.

Upon selecting the Bandit class, RealHoodNigga420 was pulled into the Lands Between as a bandit after a failed robbery attempt, resulting in his death at the hands of those filthy pigs in Chicago. He is now tasked with a quest he certainly give no shit about and proceed to rob all the merchants of their valuables.
I think you forgot about the whole Godwyn thing with Those Who Live In Death. When Ranni decided it's time to take the order and fuck off into the infinite void, she left that whole mess behind for any poor sod who happens to stumble upon it. Removing outer gods' influence on the land is one thing but Godwyn's corpse is not bound to any other god so by the time both you and her come back it will be a literal dead land.
Now that I think about it, a Godwyn DLC where you time travel 1000 years into the future after Ranni's ending, coming back to the Lands Between where everything is consumed by Godwyn's corpse would be a pretty neat idea and give FromSoft another excuse to recycle the map assets.

Debating Miyazaki lore is both a pointless endeavor and incredibly fun. The dude himself said he basically thinks of a concept and lets other people come up with the reasoning behind it. There's very little cohesion between plot points so that's why it's purposefully vague. The upside is that in the space between, you can fill whatever schizo theory you want.
With that out of the way, let me bring some counter arguments to your interpretation.
In Elden Ring, we have the concept of Eclipse and there's in-game text that suggests an eclipse can bring a True Death to Godwyn. Also, if you noticed, there's no fucking Sun in that game. The light and whatnot is basically the Erdtree acting as a huge lightbulb. So, we can assume that the Eclipse is meant for the Erdtree.
So, us burning the Erdtree and fucking into space is a form of Eclipse, and since Godwyn in his current state is due to a flaw in the current system, the upheaval of the system and removal of anything that might replace it, should lead to him fizzling out.
Think of it like a bug in software code. You can fix the bug or you can delete the entire code. Both solutions end up with the dissappearance of the bug.

The character itself and the entourage make no excuse. They know what they have done and the fact that even more needs to be done, that they need to ally themselves with all kinds of people, just so they can achieve their goal.
Her whole thing is a question of if the end justifies the means.

Gideon the All-Knowing pisses me off the most. Every single faggot in Roundtable Hold and every Tarnished ever has failed at becoming Elden Lord. Not one of them could even defeat Godrick in who knows how many millennia since the Shattering.
None the less fucking GIDEON is an egotistical, scheming, and completely incompetent prick. I don't even get to be welcome to Roundtable until I get a Great Rune? How long as your bitch ass been here reading books huh? Other old Tarnished who went pyscho after wandering the lands between like Vyke who succumbed to frenzied flame.
