Some shitbag said:
EA is halting sales of its games and content in Russia and Belarus in response to the invasion of Ukraine, the publisher announced Friday. On Wednesday, the company said that it was removing Russian teams from its FIFA and NHL games, but Friday’s actions go a significant step further.

“We have made the decision to stop sales of our games and content, including virtual currency bundles, in Russia and Belarus while this conflict continues,” EA said in a blog post. “As a result, our games and content will no longer be available for purchase in our Russian region storefront on Origin or the EA app, including through in-game stores. We are also working with our platform partners to remove our titles from their stores and stop the sale of new in-game content in the region.”

“WE ARE ACTIVELY EVALUATING OTHER AREAS OF OUR GAMES AND OPERATIONS”
The company is also “actively evaluating other areas of our games and operations” and says it will share updates on any additional actions taken.

EA joins Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red in cutting off sales in Russia and Belarus. This week, Ukraine’s vice prime minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, called on gaming companies to take action, and in tweets, directly tagged Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Epic Games, Rockstar, Tencent, and others[/quote[

Seriously, fuck EA. If they're going to treat western gamers like shit by "Continuting to sell their products in the western world" and reward genocidal regimes by liberating those nations of EA published games, then I'm out. I'm done with gaming. There is not hope. Nothing is sacred anymore.

>implying that Ivan Ivanovich won't use rutracker to getting fresh vidya

What's the catch?

Keep in mind that games in Russia are priced at significantly reduced rates, which is why you often have global / EU / RU region cd-keys. So I'm guessing the profit margins are so low companies are willing to throw an entire nation under the bus in order to virtue signal, even though it's completely pointless.

Gamers in general don't seem to have too many qualms about pirating games that are denied them through normal channels.

Why are people punishing the citizens of Russia for something Putin and the government did? It’s not as if they asked for all of this.

The same thing with the Chinese government and Chinese citizens.
It's like when you get college retards wanting everyone in Israel to die. Bitch about the government all you want but most people in any country is just trying to get through life without trouble.

How hard is it to just not buy shitty games?
Unironic answer: Kind of hard when everyone else you game with plays online, only cares about soccer, and is only interested in playing the latest FIFA. I'd imagine that's a problem a lot of people have.

I personally tend to stick to single player, so if EA banned me from ever playing all of their games ever again, that'd come down to pretty much just locking me out of Mirror's Edge, and random Maxis games I played as a kid that I just play in emulators anyway.
