I need to apologise to gay Kiwis for destroying their bars. After a few dates taking a girl to a gay bar is always a winner as it’s not full of guys who are going to chase after her, the music is good, and you can always have a laugh in there. I didn’t realise every other guy knew this trick too.

I remember using the phrase "she couldn't organize a hen do in a gay bar" in front of an older woman and she was just shocked and appalled to hear that people would "intrude on them [gay men] like that". She'd had no idea that this has somehow been considered acceptable behaviour for 40 years. The target audience doesn't read books. They may repost tiktoks of Page talking about the book, but never read it. The few that listen to the audiobook will find a free download somewhere. I don't know what the publishing company was thinking.

Why would you? I’ve said it elsewhere, but really trans people need to realise that they all have the same story and there are only so many times you can read the same stunning and brave tale. She’s late on the bandwagon. Her only selling point is that she was a fairly popular actress.
