Culture Elliot Page Wanted by Fans to Replace Ezra Miller as The Flash

Many fans of Elliot Page believe he'd be the perfect person to take over the role of Barry Allen in the DCEU.
With Ezra Miller's reputation taking some heavy damage in recent months with one negative story after another hitting the headlines, there has been a lot of chatter about what the controversy means for The Flash. At this point, the superhero movie has been filmed, and given Miller's prominence in the movie, it would be impossible to recast the role without having to basically reshoot the entire movie from scratch. It's expected that Miller will remain in the film for the release of The Flash, though it seems most likely that their role of Barry Allen will be recast moving forward.
If Warner Bros. ends up introducing a new Barry Allen in the DCEU after The Flash, who would that actor be? Fans have spent a lot of time discussing various possibilities. Grant Gustin, who plays the character in the Arrowverse's television series version of The Flash, has come up as one popular pick. In recent days, following the release of The Umbrella Academy's third season on Netflix, Elliot Page has emerged on social media as another popular pick as many fans are sold on the suggestion
Just want to take this moment to say Elliot Page would make a great Barry Allen, in case there's ever a need to, you know, cast a new Flash, for whatever reason," reads one popular post that's been liked thousands of times.

"Elliot page could totally pull off Barry Allen flash when Ezra inevitably is fired," says someone else. "Don’t really see him as comic flash, but the the flash Snyder set up that seems to be continuing into the new movie could totally be Elliot."

"I feel like some people are just fancasting Elliot Page as The Flash because they like him and wanna get rid of Ezra Miller. But I genuinely think he could pull it off," another fan says.

Another popular tweet reads, "Saw someone mention that The Flash should be recast as Elliot Paige earlier and now I'm obsessed with the idea. Not only does it keep a genderqueer actor in the role, but Elliot's no stranger to superhero outings (X-Men and Umbrella Academy), and is all around great. Need this."

Based on his acclaimed performance in The Umbrella Academy alone, it's easy to see why many fans feel Elliot Page could naturally slip into the lead role of a superhero tentpole. The actor also has prior experience in the superhero genre. Page previously played Kitty Pryde in Fox's X-Men movie series and co-starred with Rainn Wilson in James Gunn's superhero satire film Super. Maybe it's time for Page to take the lead in a new film on the big screen in the DCEU.

In the meantime, Page can be seen in the new season of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Page will Page also voices a character in the upcoming show Ark: The Animated Series as part of an ensemble cast that also includes Gerard Butler, Michelle Yeoh, David Tennant, Karl Urban, Russell Crowe, and Jeffrey Wright.

( I like batman v superman and the Snyder verse but god damn I really dont want to see a Troon play the flash.)

I dunno...

Knowing virtually nothing if the flash... this would be a better hero to go black rather than trans with. Black people are known for being good runners so it'd be fun to play on that. Also the speed power lends itself well to crime, debatably better than it lends itself to justice. I think that would make a compelling story of a young black guy from a questionable neighborhood who could literally commit any crime he wanted and get away with it, but chooses to use his powers for good instead of evil.

Perhaps a bit static shock, but fuck it, I like it.

You are ignorant so I'll forgive you for not knowing they tried blacking Flash and it created a massive shitstorm of the likes that DC and CW are STILL suffering damage as a result of.

DC in the '10s turned Wally West (who is the Flash people actually know about and give a shit about and who CW basically explicitly stole EVERYTHING about to give CW Barry and to a lesser extent the Snyder Flash, a personality) black. A move that was done to spite and punish fans who never forgave DC for demoting Wally as Flash with the resurrection of Barry Allen and Wally being unpersoned in the New 52 reboot.

Black Wally was so fucking unpopular and so fucking reviled, that DC pulled and audible and had him vanish from the pages of Flash MIDWAY THROUGH HIS INTRODUCTION ARC and embargoed him from usage until DC Rebirth. But DC was still bitter as fuck when they were finally forced to bring the REAL WHITE GINGER Wally back, they forced Geoff Johns to hardcore retcon Black Wally as a previously unseen black part of the West family along with retconning Wally and Black Wally being named after the same relative in their family. But Wally was barred from the Flash ongoing and had to get a lame new costume and DiDio, first chance he got, made Wally a mass murderer, making it impossible for him to have a major role in Doomsday Clock (which dealt with Dr Manhattan versus the DC Universe and why Manhattan explicitly chose to erase Wally from existence). Meanwhile Black Wally kept getting pushed HARD both in the Flash ongoing but also the Teen Titans.

This racebending bled into the CW Flash series, as the TV show also fucking racebent Wally's aunt and Barry's love interest Iris West. Sadly, the negress they hired to play Iris is a complete and total cunt who was pissy that she wasn't the star of the show. She furthermore weaponized social media to destroy the career of a supporting cast member who was going to become a major figure on the show (and in the process got the actress playing his love interest fired as well) and then demanded their screen time go directly to her character instead. She also tried to get other actresses fired who were more loved and beloved and had more chemistry with the Grant Gustin, due to her being pissy that the showrunners might axe her uppity cunt character and go with another actress as the main female character.

This ultimately caused CW Wally to be black too, which was a huge show killing move as far as derailing Flash and costing it a huge chunk of fans. The Black CW Wally was so reviled and unpopular he was written out but the damage was done to the show.

Isn't Ellen (fuck that delusional Elliot shit) page like 5'1? That's way too fucking short to convincingly play a superhero.

It works for the rude racoon but he is much more charming than a lesbian disguised as a 12 year old boy... and at that point you should be talking to Will Wheaten's manager now that I think about it.

In that case, I place my vote on Gary Dourdan to play the new flash.

I know he’s half white, but he’s also half black and could use a role to revive his career
