I just like Guinness and bourbon. You know, the official drinks of assholes everywhere.

Hahaha almost! Definitely get into the craft stuff. It will change how you think of beer

What types of the craft stuff are there? I'm not much of a drinker, only in social settings I am, other than that, what is out there?

No Wonder you think Elliot was spoiled.

My local brewery/restaurant used to be a post office, so that's the theme.
I get the Pony Expresso. It's a stout that also has a shot of Expresso in it.
Pretty good after a long day at work.

Generally American beers are lagers. There are whole other categories of beers and brewing methods. Lots of experimental ingredients. Definitely start at http://www.beeradvocate.com/
And just read up on stuff that might interest you. Personally I kinda just fell into the whole scene and developed likes and dislikes for certain beers.

I've always wanted to try Guinness. One of my friends said, it's a bit heavy almost as if you're having a meal.

Hey! bourbon isnt the drink of assholes! it is one of gods finest gifts to mankind.

Personally my current bourbon of choice is Woodford Reserve

Great taste on its own, and can make a killer manhatten if you are so inclined

As for guiness....meh you can get better stout in any decent drink shop. Im not really into stouts however so I cant really recommend anything

I was working in PA and the liquor store I went to was out of Maker's Mark. The guy behind the counter suggested Woodford Reserve to me and I was impressed. It's now part of the rotation.

Ah, either way, that's a drink I've been wanting for a while now. I know I'll piss like a fountain afterward, but it'll make for a decent conversation.

Does anyone here know anything about making a good homemade mead? I've tried before, and it always ends up tasting like liquid bread. Thoughts?

I love my stouts, I recommend Oyster Stout, March Of The Penguins, Hook's Double Stout, Brains Original and Black Out Beer.

Although I very much doubt you can get my recommendations outside of Northern England...

Man, as I'm reading this thread, every post, I'm thinking: oh man, I should go down to the liquor store and pick that up... ah damnit, it's sunday.

Heh heh, God I love living in a country where I can pick up booze whenever I want as long as Tesco is open!

I have two big arse bottles of Old Speckled Hen to go with Game Of Thrones tomorrow morning anyway, because of Fathers Day, Morland released 750ml bottles of Speckled and Golden Hen.

I live between Ringwood and Blandford breweries. Golden Glory is my favourite summer ale, Blandford Fly with its gingery goodness is great whenever. Tonight I'm on tanglefoot.

My ex employers funded a tour of Ringwood brewery while i was there....soooo many free samples. Noone drove home.
