I don't want to side swipe or excuse anything that he did, but being around rich and handsome famous people all the time might have had a negative effect on his overall psyche.

Oh, that definitely did play a big part in making him worse. I'm not disagreeing with that at all.

However, his parents did try to get him help, but none of it worked. Combine that with the fact that his siblings grew up in the same environment, and they're just fine (as far as we know), and that by Elliot's own admission, he had always been a piece of shit, and I'm more than willing to believe that he's one of those rare cases where someone is just born a narcissistic sociopath, and that truly nothing could've saved him in the end.

At best, he would've continued sulking online, leeching off his parents, and possibly working some cushy, "high-ranking" job they got him, and at worst, well, we all know.

There was one incident in particular where she saw him out riding his bike and tried to go up to him and say hi and he threw his bike down on the ground and ran away from her.

Peter was a deadbeat dad who didn’t take any responsibility for parenting his two older kids, and Chin was an enabler who spoiled precious baby Elliot and rushed to make his life better every time he whined about some stupid thing that was making him “miserable”. Soumaya was the only adult in his life who even tried to make him do productive stuff and I’m sure she got the whole “FUCK U BITCH UR NOT MY MOM” thing every time.

Of course… Georgia and Jazz both had one parent in common with Elliot and they turned out just fine. Sometimes people are just shitty because they’re shitty.

One of the things you notice from the leaked emails is that a lot of Elliot's attitude about his dad and Soumaya comes from Chin. There's a lot of emails between Peter and Chin where Chin asks for money, Peter says he can't because of his current financial situation, only for Elliot to mysteriously join the conversation to yell at his dad. This doesn't really absolve Elliot of his actions but it's something I noticed.
