I dunno about you guys. But I think it's a cool slice of old American patriotism. Is it gay and corny? Yeah, like a motherfucker. But shit. It reminds me how fun it used to be to be patriotic.
When was that? During the Bush era when anyone with a slight disagreement was cancelled like Dixie Chicks or Bill Maher? Don't forget Conservatives were the original cancel culture.

And in the end, there were like what, six or seven shuttles, one a non operable demonstrator, and three of them broke up in reentry? Broke up in reentry from low earth orbit, even.
One was destroyed when a defective solid rocket booster baked the main fuel tank and it did a rapid unscheduled disassembly and the other broke up in re-entry due to the tile damage that had happened on every single launch finally taking out a tile that the shuttle couldn't re-enter without.

SpaceX didn't replace NASA. It's replaced Boeing, Lockheed Martin and few other companies that were building the launch vehicles. NASA builds very little themselves, it's all subbed out.

the rabbit hole is full of absolutely retarded kerbal space program bullshit. besides the fact that they had to put the thing on top of a fucking 747 to transport it for maintenance, besides the fact that the entire thing is really just two giant solid rocket boosters, besides the fact that the shuttle is covered in ceramic tiles that have to be replaced - when the thing was being penned out the air force demanded they make the design 30% larger so it could carry enough fuel to launch from a polar orbit from cape canaveral so they could steal soviet space satellites out of orbit. there was a significant political effort to ensure the orbiter was beefy enough to do polar orbits for all sorts of nefarious purposes - and it never launched into a polar orbit. never once.

I have a question. Do you find modern women dressed like this attractive, or is it the the implied age of the women instead of the aesthetic?
More of column B in that instance. The implication of the attire shows that they're from a simpler time. If a modern woman like AnniePotts or Martha Stewart dressed like that, sure.

What happened to the Orion capsule?

You don’t get anything functional out of the military industrial complex anymore because they reached a point of kickback singularity.

This comment is retarded on it's face and isn't a realistic view of space travel in general, but all I will ask is when Musk fails to deliver anything over the next decade will you continue simping for him?
With all due respect people like you were saying this sort of stuff about him before Starlink and a bunch of other projects that Musk was "full of shit" about. How much more goalpost shifting is gonna occur?

Ameritards worshipping billionaire's who wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire will never get old. Yours truly is a country of temporarily embarrassed millionaires.
This. I hate liberals but conservatives do this retarded thing where they tell elites to shut up when they disagree then gargle their balls if they say something they agree with.

It's still in testing and development.
A lot of the retardation in the Shuttle and other NASA programs comes from pork barrel politics. It was a huge spend and every state wanted to make sure that some of that money wound up in their patch. Incidentally, Airbus operates like that for the same reason (wings made in one country, fuselage in another) but they managed not to cripple themselves in the process.
SpaceX's big advantage is being vertically integrated so everything operates from a handful of sites and they don't have a massive surfeit of cooks all trying to get their spoon in the same broth.

Starlink is still a retard idea that survives off of investment capital. It's never going to be profitable, even if every person on earth were a subscriber. Musk's only business plan for all of his ventures is getting too big to fail. It relies on ground infrastructure too, so it isn't some kind of competitor to telecom companies either. And FYI I'm not some leftycuck and my dislike of Musk has nothing to do with politics(which he doesn't even believe in.)

I am surprised to see so many butthurt faggots on KF ngl.

"Reeeeeee! SpaceX bad!" :story:
