I don't pay attention to the "groyper" people, but a lot of very right wing guys I follow on X didn't buy into Musk's "free speech" crap either. Lots of those people believe he's a snake. Mainstream boomercons eat up his bullshit like pigs at a slop bucket because they're room temp IQ golems.
I started winding down how much I use twitter last year because of this crap. For the past 6 or so years I've been primarily using it for following artists and musicians, but about a year ago my feed turned into a bunch of people I don't follow, usually political or media commentators. It got to the point where most of my feed was bluechecks I'd never heard of.

He also banned pro-Harris accounts and would get pro-Trump accounts promoted over others leading up to the election.
His whole "free speech" thing is just a grift as it is just very performative to get people to think he's standing up for the little guy when the only thing Elon cares about is himself, and maybe his mother (I really feel there is something weird between them)

I mean when he told advertisers to go fuck themselves, that sounded cool on the surface level, but it was fundamentally autistic of Elon to do with how little ads he gets on Twitter. Why else is he charging for so much random bullshit on Twitter, its because the advertisers left him. Like the only ads on Twitter are just political ads, crypto/NFT/AI ads, and porn ads. The only distinct brand I see that still advertises on twitter is like McDonalds.
I think the point is that before you could at very least opt out of the political shit if you didn’t engage. What does it matter if dems or maga are being censored if you’re using the site the way @Lvkester Endorser described? Now there is no escaping it, no matter what you post or engage with, where you are in the world, you will be drawn into US politics. That’s why it’s 1000000x worse now.
