I'm starting to think that Elon is this term's John Bolton. He was a bizarre pick for Trump's first term, but what Trump basically did with him is let him run wild a bit, then yank hard on his leash, humiliate him, and reverse course. I think he did this to basically give the donors what they wanted, demonstrated how unpopular and politically suicidal what they wanted was, and then went his own way.

The difference this time is that the donor himself wanted to be put in the position, and he's rather quickly burning through every ounce of goodwill that he's ever possessed while wreaking havoc everywhere from Medicaid to APHIS. Musk is basically giving the country a crash course in why libertarian tech bros are retarded and should not be allowed within 300 feet of government.

It's a good political sleight of hand. Trump gets to be the hero and the voice of the people when he swoops in to put a stop to it all while the donor can't say that he didn't try to deliver. The donor (or the donor's flunky) then becomes the patsy for their failed ideology, discrediting themselves in the process.

elon is typical management, needs to be distinguished and seem important. he needs his special email name. undoubtedly does no work, tweets from his fart couch. only bootlickers and brownnosers cheer for these kind of people
I'm still staggered that he has been feuding with cabinet secretaries about how many people they've fired or not while having little idea what the DOGE guys had gotten up to with nearly firing air traffic controllers.

He seems way too into this mythology around him being a genius and amazing businessman while having next to no idea how he comes across to others or what his people are even doing.
Fox also said the same thing about the town halls. It's funny that the Soros funds everything thing is now the #1 go-to for them. I remember 10 years ago when it was only in the realm of 9/11 truthers, flat earthers, lizard people truthers, anti-free masons, etc.
The townhalls being astroturfed a bit is semi-true. You're getting people who aren't constituents of the politicians coming in to grab seats pretty routinely because they are trying to get videos that can go viral of the politicians being berated. But even then it shouldn't be that hard to counter what people are saying. They're just not used to having to do that as many of these guys are used to being in extremely safe seats where no one cares about them.

The donors really just wanted the tax cuts. That was all.

Nah, he’s this term’s Steve Bannon. Bannon got dismissed end of August 2017. By coincidence, Bannon and Musk are now slapfighting.

John Bolton got hired because nobody with a political future wanted to be associated with Trump. This was in the thick of it with the Mueller investigation and the feds busting Trump’s associates with process crimes.

Trump’s second term is very closely resembling his first term. Gotta wonder who the John Bolton of the second term is.

I want to know what drugs he takes to be like this. I've tried some stuff in my life but never acted like this, and km like half his age.
Ketamine is a hell of a drug, and it explains everything. Most specifically his dedication to the simulation theory.

Could be something on the Starlink network. Could be a new Russian ISR system that geolocates terminals. Could be the US government sharing intelligence with the Russians for all I know. Anything is possible in the new world order.

The Russians are very good at EW and at the start of the war they were triangulating foreign mobile phones across the whole of Ukraine to target volunteers. I've no doubt the Starlink terminals leak a lot of radio emissions in directions other than where they're pointed as they're only civilian devices.

The Ukies look to be moving over to the EU's GOVSATCOM which is an amalgam of the 4 satcom networks based in EU countries, including Eutelsat/OneWeb which is a discount version of Starlink. It doesn't have the capacity to let you watch Netflix in the trenches or make a satellite phone call from an iPhone but it does cover all of Ukraine and it's not controlled by an autist with a breeding fetish.

We really need a nuanced and effort-posting political discussion thread. Half of this thread is indistinguishable from reddit and the main thread has become a shitshow and moves way to fast for anyone who isn't terminally online and because of that it often devolves into dickriding and flat out lies. Maybe I am misremembering but I used to love Kiwifarms because of the autistic research people would do to get to the bottom of a story and post their findings in a mostly unbiased fashion. That doesn't seem to be happening as much anymore, and I can't be the only one who feels this way.
