10 years ago the prevailing opinion on him was he was a genius who would save humanity.

Remember that?
Not me. I was tipped off about his lolcow tendencies when a few of my friends worked at Tesla back in the early days, like 15-20 years ago. During that time, most people would wash out in just a few months because Elol was such a retard to work for. Every startup of that type has brutal hours but it became hell on earth because of Elol. He never thought of the sheer inefficiency of having such high turnover, which is yet another indicator of his “genius.”

Grok is selling itself so well that Elol made it a rider on the contracts for the companies handling the SpaceX IPO:

SpaceX being valued at $2 trillion is pure insanity. Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffett's company) had 2025 profits of around $45 billion and has a market cap of $1 trillion.
Pretty standard valuation for anything Elol or AI, really. 1% fundamentals, 99% hype.

Cook so now Elon’s ai will be in all our business. Definitely didn’t have laws against shit like this before, and shit like this definitely hasn’t historically tanked our economies over and over. No I think this time letting the rich decide everything just might work!

Guy named Nate Silver pointed out that one reason why twitter is such a shithole where lies and bullshit get 10 million impressions while quality research gets 1k is that twitter HEAVILY deboosts links, which means nobody who wants engagement posts links, which means people have no easy way to verify claims made.

Nikita Bier, head of product at twitter, responded with lies and what I assume is supposed to be sarcasm.

This information is blatantly false, any creator on x knows it, they know it, and they even have public explanations for why it is the case: X maximizes time spent on the app, so if people click a link to read an article, that kills time on X.
Of course they can't admit that that has negative impacts on the quality of posts, because they like to pretend that X "optimizes for truth" or some reddit shit like that.

Musk joined the conversation with an insult.

And by displaying that he is so retarded he doesn't understand the concept of probabilities.

Reminder that under Musk twitter stopped publishing reports and cut off all researchers from doing their own research on how the platform operates.
He likes to claim he is pro-transparency, but he does everything he can to hide information that was freely available before he took over.
Neither he nor Nikita provide any alternative data, by the way, they just claim this is bullshit because they also like to circle jerk about how X is totally neutral.

The two faggots then proceeded to cope tweet about the interaction to their algorithm-created hugboxes.

Twitter is definitely a perfect example of the medium being the message. Too bad the message is fucking stupid.

The X algorithm = bizarre as hell.

Sometimes your Xcretes get no attention, ignored, and not even 1 view.
Other times all hell breaks loose, you get 25-50 views within a minute... I can't figure out why.

Obviously, its what you say that gets magnified one time but not another... but it seems willy-nilly to me.

Is this built in, based on the subject matter and/or using certain words.. or is it just accidental and you can't predict any of it?

These "extremes" never happened when Jack Dorsey was in charge.

Is this by design or is the resulting chaos what Musk planned on?

Twitter is in a weird place, because it is THE place to get bleeding edge information, interpreted by experts in the field and autists who spent the last 15 years obsessing over a topic.
But these accounts have a few ten thousand followers and get a couple thousand impressions most of the time, so you have to monkey branch your way into a network of experts related to your field, and if you don't know where to start, you're screwed.

At the same time, the big accounts, with almost no exceptions, are lying grifters getting rich off of creating a fake reality for degenerate junkies who don't like the real world, and many, perhaps most of them, are pushed by botnets operated by people in whose interest it is that people have an incorrect perception of reality.

Elon Musk is one of these junkies who have been brain broken by this kind of slop, and there are many leaders with similar problems.
I think the overwhelming majority of the population is incapable of navigating social media without getting deranged by it, because social media looks exactly like IRL interactions, but it has NOTHING in common with IRL interactions with regards to how it works. So people's intuitions that serve them well everywhere else, suddenly cause them to become mentally ill when exposed to this space.

Musk actively goes against experts and calls them losers for telling him his reality is not real.

Musk is probably garden-variety autistic, and his wealth allows him to reject reality and substitute his own without fear of contradiction. Like Michael Jackson of old, Musk is able to insulate himself against people who tell him "no," or "that's not a good idea," or "you really need to see a proper medical doctor," only with fewer giraffes and Ferris wheels.

What happened, did the Maga grift dry up? 🤔

Chappelle was the crack in the dam looking back, trying to pivot to an off-ramp which just isn't there.
