ENA: Dream BBQ - Days-old game cracked open like a boss egg.

People in current year seeing developers having any fun using non-literal imagery or fucking with the audience's expectations on purpose always interpret it as "MUH SERIOUS REAL-WORLD ALLEGORY". Why?
They're incredibly mundane people, with no spark of imagination or creativity. They're the kind of niggers who couldn't grok a sci-fi movie if it didn't look exactly like real life.
his thing has always been either porn parodies like that deleted Splatoon animation and the old Dora parody.
Well now I know what this thread's going to be about for the next five years. Fuck you in advance for ruining it, by the way.

I love him sm he's has such a cute design.
It's too bad that Kane is a twink for TF vore orgies. I knew that the alligators were committing strange, grievous sins, inside of their goatse maze and so did the authorities inside of this universe. You don't need to feel bad for destroying the Uncanny Streets because the BATHROOM was content to enable and "forgive" a DeviantArt Heaven's Gate.

What the fuck did you just say?

The Purge Event is a celebration of suicidal vorephiles. It's not sexualized at all, of course, it's still treated like a shameful adult event. We all know two reasons that a form of entertainment is illegal; either because it's obviously destructive, or because the authorities are disgusted by it. And death doesn't exactly matter in this universe so it's still just something done between consenting adults.

Speaking of adulthood. There's an easter egg before purge event where one of the doors will open into the world from Extinction Party, the episode where all the supporting characters are desperately telling ENA that she's in an inappropriate place, even starting with a someone trying to card her. You think that's about immigration? Hahaha, this show is set in the internet, and nearly all of "border patrolling" online is there to keep minors away from being exploited or corrupted, exactly what the other two characters are talking about. We have all of the available data to figure out ENA's problem without reading the DSM. She talks, dresses, acts, and mood swings like a teenage girl. And voreaphilia is also a vice that is specific to the internet.

And the Purge Event is the easy way to advance with a steep price to pay later that will most likely lock you out of the Lonely Door's good ending, while denying you of a useful item (the Board Member) for later episodes. It has the kind of consequences that game designers assign to doing a bad, immoral thing. And the doors in the purge event are opened by hands in the same way that someone holds their clothes or even orifice open, like a subliminal cue that this is a sex thing.

I thought this was dialogue from the series for a second.

So thanks to this thread I have gone down the rabbit hole of the ENAverse and I am now eternally grateful to Kiwifarms for leading me to it.

I am amazed I did not hear about it sooner but definitely better late than never in this case.

As a show of gratitude, please enjoy this staring contest between ENAs.

Imagine explaining all of this to a 14th century medieval serf that was decapitated because he stole an loaf of sourdough bread so he could feed his family:heart-empty:

Hi! Ever since the game came out, it’s been kinda hard for me to get back into drawing, but I feel like I’m slowly getting used to it again. I made these little sketches as practice.
Hope you’re all having a good week!

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since my last post.
To be honest, over these past two months I’ve been learning a different approach to creating storyboards and organizing the project. This time, I feel like I want to focus more on directing, so I’ve been studying new methods for making storyboards. I’m really happy about this because, in the process, I’ve found inspiration again—and without realizing it, I was already drawing for the project once more. I’ve already finished an entire storyboard for a cinematic, and now I’m working on finishing the second one (which, to me, is the most ambitious 2D cinematic yet). The first storyboard is already being animated by other people, which is really exciting.

I’d love to show more drawings soon, but at the same time, I feel a bit sad about spoiling too much of the content you’ll see in the future, haha. Still, I’ll try to share things while being careful not to ruin the experience later on.

As an extra note, I’ve also been taking painting classes—I’d really like to paint on canvas a lot during my free time.

Thank you all for being so patient with me. I know I haven’t had much of an online presence lately and I barely post content, but I’m always thinking about the next works I’ll be making!

Here’s a drawing from one of the storyboards I made recently.

Here’s part of an animatic from a cinematic!

Hello, I wanted to share this here! One fun thing about working on character design is having the freedom to go from creating creepy, monster-like characters to the most ordinary-looking faces you can see, haha.

I’ve been really busy with the project lately, and I think that’s actually a good sign!

The song I used here is a placeholder and is called "UFo" from Kitune Akimoto.

I've been playing Hell Is Us and that's legit one of the ONLY problems I have with that game:
One of the characters explicitly ties the civil war to real life by saying "Sabinians are basically Liberals and Palomists are basically Conservatives" and I'm just like....
Fuckin why? They didn't need to do that, the story stands on its own, the two factions are interesting and the history is complicated. Making it a real life allegory takes something  away from the narrative.

"Sabinians are basically Liberals and Palomists are basically Conservatives"
Yeah, this fucking blows. It comes across to me as the same type of thing you hear from the fuckwits online that respond to anyone (or any community) saying they don't want to be involved in politics with shit like "EVERYTHING IS POLITICS, SILENCE IS VIOLENCE", etc etc. You can't take an "uninterested, neutral, don't want to discuss" position, you (and your property) HAVE to represent our side or you're a dirty nat-zee. It always ends up with a series being co-opted by people who largely don't contribute to the community, or the creator decides to purposefully feed the vultures to virtue signal (and drive out any fans who aren't fringe fanatics) just to get cannibalized later when they don't asskiss their only remaining fanbase hard enough. I really can't blame Joel for treating his fans like carriers of the black plague, assuming that he's aware of this pattern and just keeps his head down for the money (although the back-and-forth during twitch streams can be funny when it isn't just people spamming gay shit).

The reaction to the gun lady appearing is going to be great. As long as there isn't a weirdly specific model spike in firearm sales from character-obsessive types, I mean. Very excited to see where Chapter 2 goes.

I will say: I don't think that's what it is in Hell Is Us. I'm willing to give the writers the benefit of the doubt that they put in that explicit and hamfisted line just to make sure the intellectual mongoloids in the audience can understand.

HIU is dark as fuck, I imagine you can't show shit like the "Sabinian Family (Lynching) Tree" on Twitch, so the devs can't rely on streamers pointing out obvious parallels to their audiences of mental midgets.

Still annoys me, but at least it's from optional dialogue, not story critical dialogue, and I don't get the feeling at all that the game is pushing any agenda other than "war is really fucking bad, but it happens for very understandable, very human reasons"
