I don't know if this counts, but I have to share because it's just so fucking weird.
I have a piece of jewelry that's related to a video game. I'm rather fond of it, so I tend to wear it a lot, even at work. Occasionally someone will comment on it in recognition, maybe have a small conversation about the game, and we go on with our lives.
The other day, this kid came up to me and started yammering at me about this game. (Like, a teenager who should by all means not be this social.) I went along with it for a while, because it's my job to be polite. Then one of my regular customers walked up with a cart full of groceries, and I expected the kid to take a hint and piss off. Nope. He stood there, in the way, and continued to tell me about how he'd gotten a "secret achievement" in the game (that isn't even in the game anymore, because he told one of the developers about it, because they've been friends since before the game came out, and the developer was like "huh that's weird" and removed it), and how the most popular character in the game was apparently his idea... I swear this went on for fifteen minutes until he finally got the idea that he should leave me to do my job. (At which point I apologized profusely to my customer and explained that I had literally no idea who that kid was.)
I mean, I'm sure he's a tumblr kid. He's certainly got the autism for it.
