I'm not sure if they can be called SJWs, but my university is certainly full of people who aggressively promote their beliefs. This kind of behavior isn't tolerated at all in the religion department, but for whatever reason it goes unchecked everywhere else. I've had two such teachers, PhD candidates from the mainland who I sincerely hope are denied their doctorates. People like them shouldn't be shaping young adults' lives if they can't keep political discussion where it belongs.
So far in my Intro to Sociology class, the teacher has stopped to repeat that radical or otherwise bad feminism isn't real feminism at least once in every class...while we're still covering the very basics of the field. I understand wanting to defend your ideologies, but not only is doing so in a school setting inappropriate; this woman's thinking is so frustratingly backwards (She was honest enough to say she isn't anywhere near qualified to teach yet, though her behavior is telling enough. She treats her students like children and is more disorganized than a senile church board.). Twice now she's cited sexism—instead of, say, difficult diagnosis—as the main reason for more women than men dying of heart attacks. Today she, the TA (Why does she have a TA when she isn't technically a professor?), and later a few classmates defended Mattress Girl, calling her a martyr and an example of why we all need feminism. I feel like listening to her long enough will give me heart problems.
Last year I took an Asian-American Literature class that was less about Asian-Americans than the evils of the white man. First thing the teacher did that semester was denounce personal titles as institutions meant to keep women under men's thumb. She then asked the students for their title and preferred pronouns. "Make your own if you like!" she said. For extra credit she gave links for us to read and analyze, but none of them had anything to do with the class; instead, they were articles about (among other topics), better education in Germany, better everything in Germany, and frickin Anita Sarkeesian and whatever had happened to her because of Gamergate. I asked at some point if she had a Tumblr, but she had no idea what I meant (She doesn't have one.).
