WHY EVERY TIME ON THIS SITE I TRY TO CLICK SOMETHING, I HAVE TO SOLVE RIDDLES AND DO CRYPTOGRAPHIC CHALLENGES. Yeah I have to give the site credit for sort of being almost a prototype for what kiwi farms would eventually become, there was nothing like it before as a bastion of free speech and being one of the first places that would document lolcows and huge masses of internet meme culture and chan history. I genuinely wouldn't have found Chris or the farms without it but as of this point its just so incredibly out of date, filled with ancient articles about incredibly obscure stuff you would have had to be a massive nerd to understand back then, old articles on lolcows that haven't been relevant in a half decade, written in an obscure language that makes it almost impossible to read. I respect it for what it was but it's a relic of an long gone error and needs to be archived for posterities sake.

sorry for being a necrobumper but fuck it, I can't resist. I think ED servers as a fresh-from-the-oven time capsule about what the internet was like back then and tbh, I like that. let's keep ED the way it is now.

Alright I have an update. Looking at the whois info for the domain it looks like it is flagged in an auto renew status as of 11/29/2023. Basically they didn't pay to renew so it sitting in a grace period of 1 year or else it gets deleted. That's why traffic is hitting a generic landing page.

Given that ED has never really generated any income that didn't immediately go directly into the veins of former admins it has always been a labor of love paid for out of pocket of whichever mentally ill crackhead was running the site at the time.

Now this is a crying shame. I know ED has been a retarded site run by retarded crackheads, but I always enjoyed it. Some great early Internet lore archived there (i.e. "an hero").

I hope someone (who's been through rehab) takes it and gets a new domain for it.

So it's basically dead at this point. I mean, how many retarded crackheads are there even left that care about ED? Last one spawned the legendary Assnapkins thread so you know we're reaching bottom of the barrel here.
I hope the pages can be archived, at least. Even if no new ones are made, they should at least be readable for future generations(kind of how Null said he would make Kiwi Farms archives available in full if he could no longer keep the site up)
