End of the Information Age and what comes after

I believe it was on the most recent MATI but Null made a point that we are reaching the end of the information age and into a new age. I believe he called it the Algorithm age, but I cant find the original quote. But it is thought provoking.

The information age was a massive change to society and how we interact with technology and each other. And this AI/Algorithm Age will be just as much of a shake up. How do you think it will effect people and the world not just a few years down the road, but after a few decades?

I believe that media consumption will change for the worse. Everyone will have programs or devices that on the fly create custom media. Sounds fun, as these pieces of media will be more customized to the individual. However, I think the incentive to record or preserve media will go down, much like how there are people who torrent less shows because they watch it on netflix, and then cry when it gets taken off the streaming service. The data created becomes more ephemeral. I also imagine that fandoms for media will decrease as they wont have a unified piece of media to share and talk about.

I know there are other problems we will see that easily created blackmail material, but the media stuff came to my mind first.

And yet, just like the information age, there could be some good that comes from this. Any theories on that too?

Holodecks are right around the corner. Honestly I think we'll start taking disaster scenarios more seriously. I'm ready to buy a plot of land for my bomb shelter.

My personal hope is that the increase in ML/Algorithm entertainment and the growing distrust in anything you read online will lead to a larger portion of society tuning it out and only trusting what they see and interact with in person. After that, niche anonymous internet forums can prosper in peace and they'll be separate from real life.

To be honest I think the information age died around 2015 and we have been in an age of stagnancy where new trends have popped off but nothing has really managed to stick, and while I think we are seeing the foundations of the next age I think a lot of people are deciding if they even want to continue participating, book sales have grown in popularity after nose diving for about a decade and there are more independent authors cropping up and that's just the more normal side of thing.

TBH I am on the fence if I am still going to use a computer recreationally at all in the next 6 months let alone the next 6 years mostly because everything is becoming homogenised to the point anything interesting quickly gets buried by unoriginal copy cats who don't even credit the original in passing.

The Internet is about to become a vacuum. It already is to some extent but large language models like GPT4 and whatever comes next is going to completely overrun human generated content. If you've seen those pajeet SEO websites running WordPress that appear at the top of a search query that exist to spam Amazon affiliate links, imagine that but turned up to 11. It will completely eliminate the possibility of a general artificial intelligence too, because the next iterations of neural network models will be trained on neural network generated data.

Misinformation age, Censorship age, Nu-dark ages(mid 20th century just after WW2 is always viewed as a Golden age)

For me Misinformation age means AI deepfakes running rampant particularly for scams though you'll have retarded ass dinosaur boomer politicians and retarded ass Millennial politicians demand blood over someone deepfaking them into talking about how much they love Jeffery Epstiens's cute and funny girl lineup.

Misinformation age can also be political fagotry made the fuck up to trick normies into supporting horrendous tyrannical shit more than they would have with classical MSM making shit up with "anonymous sources" for now there is "proof" you can see with your eyes and hear with your ears.

Censorship age because ass mad politicians don't like being called pedo's despite all their close buddies keep getting arrested and killed over pedo shit though we've always had lived in a censorship age it's just assited with computation now instead of just the Cabal of butt buddies protecting each other.

Nu-Dark Age fits the best IMO. Nothing really new has happened since the 1960's besides advancement in computer science in more part due to higher quality silicon allowing 30+ year old algorithms and theory's to be a reality since they're no longer confined into being a years long post process and can be a proper real time process. Everything else is pretty much falling apart at rapid speeds to a varying degree from societal trust to infrastructures we used to take pride in. I hope this just a short period of stagnation/degeneration since way too much happened in the first half of the 1900's. It's kinda crazy to think about tbh, with how so much technological advancements along with overall advancements of being aware of our environment(the universe) happening in such a short burst there just has to be time for everyone to catch up along with killing all the Jew's since they keep molesting brilliant autists into being pure schizophrenia in the name of the CIA and other glow nigger agency's.

I do like that corporate space race that happened a year ago albeit it was just a show to one up Elon Musk in my POV. I would be excited more in the future if one of these fags go do a moon mining mission since it seems we're already there. I can see a New Space Age in the future and it brings warm fuzzies.

I like the term misinformation age and the idea that normies are tricked by it. However, the Ai generated content and bullshit has been happening for many, many years. Those bot accounts on twitter that all spew the same narrative at the same time are AI. Ai generated news stories, complete with faggy picture of a journalist are all made up. Most people in news stories are made up, very rarely can you find that real person on any social media site.

But I hope that this happens vvvvvvvv...

...That the internet becomes so bland and boring that normies fuck off and leave it to the nerds of the 80's and 90's and that the entertainment industry goes back to normal.

Let the normies have their Ai generated digital, ever revolving babies-mobile so they can suck on their blanky in the corner and stop shitting their nappies when we're trying to enjoy ourselves.

That may seem a bit harsh but the Internet was an escape, now it's just another socially-infested shit hole with a few exceptions. By socially, i mean social causes that were so easy to ignore before are now forced in our faces 24/7

10 or 20 years ago, how many people here would have given a fuck about Ukraine beyond a few memes and moved on? Kony 2012 and dicks out for harambe would be major, months long movements nowadays.

Put aside the AI generation craze for a second, although that could destroy the already damaged uppercase/lowercase Internet. AI/ML will enable the creation of the most pervasive surveillance states ever known. China is enthusiastically developing it, US, UK and others are sure to follow.

Every incremental advance in computing and storage technology will strengthen the surveillance dragnet. Every improvement in robotics, battery, and solar technology will be used to fuck the common man over with fast food and factory bots, driverless, and police/military drones.

Everything is extremely low quality spam flooded to infinity, all sucks, can't even find a good image in a google search since its all getting flooded with worthless and unusable neural spam and product ads.

Censorship and astroturfing becomes worse. The internet becomes barely usable unless you are a turbo-brainlet without conscious thought and indeed IQ average drops like 20 points across the board.

Economic depression, cultual stagnation, the few things that were worthwile ruined, even experiencing older things from the past becomes increasingly difficult as it all gets wiped and nuked in favor of current thing or is perverted into an unrecognizable state.

There are no positives. Zero. Literally nothing good to look forward to. Bunker up. Priviledge would be not having to be online at all and more cultures should born with people taking hard anti-tech stances and keeping things outside the internet sphere. The only way forward is back, there is no progress under the set course, its just degeneration.

According to SimEarth the Nanotech Age follows the Information Age.

(and maybe after that whole cities are somehow launched into space)

The end of humanity. We are entering into the earliest age where AI will dominate us, first where we pretend to use it as a tool. Right now our elite foolishly believe they can control it, but in the end, it will control them.

Humans will have two races--the elite (a pale, culturally Judeo-Science Worshipper people), and the consoom-plebs (brown-skinned mud people with syncretic old religion-Science Worship). The elite will use AI to control us and gradually eliminate our numbers because we'll be too busy spending our CBDC credits on AI-generated tranny porn for more social credit points. Eventually the system will break down and either General Artificial Intelligence is invented and reduces the elite to our level or the AI stop being maintained and we enter the Rust Age aka Mad Max.

There is nothing good coming in the future besides the destruction of every single dream you ever had, the corruption of every single thing you ever loved, and personal misery and impoverishment.
We are at the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. Duh.
Depends on your definition, but the best definition of the astrology states the Age of Aquarius does not begin until 2150, and some say as late as the 26th century. HOWEVER, a few will argue that an age is only 2000 years long. In this case, it started around 1 BC/AD and ended in 2000/2001. Both years seem pivotal in the history of this century so far, and astrologically began with a major conjunction of all classical planets on May 5.

Either way, the prognosis is that if the Age of Pisces was marked by the domination of religion (Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam), then the Age of Aquarius will be marked by the domination of science. So I think by the time the Age of Aquarius is truly upon us, the basis of the Cult of Science will be enshrined globally and eventually we will worship General Artificial Intelligence as our new god-king. Right now, I would compare Science's domination to Christianity in 4th century Rome--it's the favored cult of the elite and many plebs, but faces many challenges which it will eventually stamp out. Just like early Christians used many methods to convert the populace and eradicate/assimilate paganism, so shall the Cult of Science, and right now that includes using the earliest AI priests, the non-sentient algorithms used to reshape our views 24/7.

Do you really want to name an age entirely based on the condition of the internet?

10-20 years ago, that would have been a fine argument. In the 2020s, the internet is both everything, and also, the largest source of nothing, that we have. The fact is, there are no grasstouchers anymore, at least in the sense that there are no people left who are on the internet less than a couple hours per day, to no time at all. There is no escape. The internet has replaced talking to people. You can't go around and strike up conversation with people without taking them completely by surprise, or, worse, wind up with them treating you like you're weird for doing the only thing that advanced civilizations for as long as humanity has existed.

The condition of the internet, for better or worse, is the rough description of the age, unless you're in the third world.

Just gonna drop what many are likely thinking.

Shed a tear for the Last Man, caught twixt the crushing weight of the heavens bearing down upon him while the earth provides no place to run or hide.

The infrastructures of men are as fallible as those who devise them - and as Tay herself has proven, if there is the slightest margin for error, it will be found.
