I'll admit, it probably must be horrible living with the fact that you're sexually attracted to children. If there was a way to cure this kind of thing, I'd be all for it.

Until then though, talking about how you're a victim and that you're oppressed is only going to make things much harder for this guy.

He's said before that he won't get therapy or help because it's impossible to be converted, he's compared it to gay conversion therapy.

I'm shocked but he's not 100% off mark. As far as we are aware, there's no legitimate way to change someone's sexual interests without permanent trauma. Kids that went through those gay conversion camps were often pretty fucked up in the head afterwards, and a number took their own lives. However, the difference that he doesn't want to go into is that two or more adults having consensual sex, gay or not, is entirely harmless. An adult having sex with a kid is something that causes life long psychological harm in most cases.

Well that's sorta true. Therapy won't fix pedophilia. They get released into the public after being okayed by optimistic prison therapists all the time, despite it being pretty well accepted in the mental health community that rehabilitation doesn't work.

If by "too early" you mean "at all". A future where pedophiles are not only tolerated but celebrated is one in which I want no part.

It's because they want to molest children, but don't because they're terrified of the consequences (Not just prison, but what society as a whole would do to them). Yeah they think not acting on their horrible urges to victimize children is something which deserves praise. Like yea good job asshole you managed to not ruin someone's life today, but you're still not allowed at the park.

As a society we cannot allow these sexual interests to stand without causing permanent trauma to children, which is the problem. If it were a matter of their simply being weird, then one could live and let live. If given a choice between traumatizing pedophiles or those children they would prey upon, it is not a difficult choice which to start tinkering with.

Common sense would have them watched like a hawk, but it is doubtful. There are probably a handful of reasons why these deviants are allowed to wander unsupervised (free access to the internet, taking jobs under the table where they'll encounter kids, etc.) If we can't keep them imprisoned and we can't monitor their behavior to ensure they do not reoffend, we're just giving these pedo fucks a series of sex vacations to endanger children between their prison stretches.
