Speaking as a bong, all the genned up "hurr death to the Bri'ish" "hurr I support the IRA because my granddad once saw a pint of Guinness" shit makes me sad. We're brother cultures with a shared heritage and if my field of work didn't require US citizenship I'd be moving to Montana or Wyoming in a heartbeat.

Far too many British people don't appreciate that the US is a continent sized country with innumerable different cultures, accents, cuisines *none of which are 21st century British* and if you do things differently over there, it's because you are a different country.

In short, we should put our differences aside, appreciate the similarities and team up to reconquer your gay, french hat. The day of the rake cannot come soon enough.

Question to brits, would you give up all overseas territories (BOT for short) if it meant the bongland stops all immigration, deports everybody new from the past 10 years and drops authoritarianism, right here right now. Food for thought, sounds like a good deal to me.

I shit on the Brits a lot, but the reality is I love the UK. I consume huge amounts of British rock music, I love a lot of British fashion (especially the hard mods), and I study a lot of British history since there is so much of it to read that is in English.

What I find most aggravating about the British, though, is their tendency to be vicious assholes for no apparent reason. There have been times that I spoke to a Brit and showed some basic friendliness, for which I received some insult or verbal abuse in direct response. No joke, no shit talking, just an obvious insult. This has occurred even in professional settings. No other society I have encountered does this. It is as though the Brits, as a country, have some complex about American friendliness or Americans in general. The French don't do this as consistently and neither do the Italians. The Germans are close, but not quite there.

Also, the posh Brits are completely autistic. It's like they only know how to interact with other upper-crust Brits and they come across as goofy extraterrestrials to everyone else. There is something deeper than classism going on there.

I've met British people who behave rationally. They are great. The problem is that so many Brits do not behave in any rational way. It's a wonder anything gets done over there.
