Enshitification of Youtube - Or just every mainstream platform nowadays.

I'm gonna be very cliche,

Hard times create strong men
Strong men create good times
Good times create weak men
Weak men create hard times

That combined with the elites vs normies conflict. Almost like enshitification is the result of human nature working symbiotically with entropy, till everything goes to shit and the cycle is forced to repeat.

In case anyone reading this thread wants to know how to still block ads on Youtube:
1. Install uBlock Origin
2. If Youtube starts blocking videos again, then go to the settings page within the extension, go to "Filter lists", then click "Purge all caches," and then "Update now".

It has not, as of yet, provided a solution for the giant shamebox and video playback halting until you either click it away or turn off your adblocker.

I mean, the solution I just described works perfectly for me. If you're using a different adblocker like Adblock Plus then now might be the time to switch over, I don't think they've built a workaround just yet.

Nope. uBlock origin. I've been purging and reloading the caches every time I've seen the adblock warning. It still turns up.

Unfortunately, I've had mixed results with this, where it worked previously, then stopped. Testing it just now, it seems like it's working again, but might not be for long. Probably as a result of Google and uBlock being in a bit of an arms race on it. I switched to using the FreeTubeApp and imported my subscriptions/history and it works great, though. Built in SponsorBlock and stuff. Just can't leave comments/like videos, unless I'm missing something.

It could be the browser you're using, then. I'm using Firefox, so it's possible Chrome (since it's also owned by Google) is being a bit more gung-ho with enforcing the block

Law three of politics: The simplest way to explain the explanation of any bureaucratic organization is to assume it's controlled by a cabal of its enemies.
