What the fuck was the weird troon goblin creature helping him repair the c128 in his latest video?
Do you have a link? This dude seems to have an affinity for troons. I know he had one do the music for his Attack of the PETSCII Robots game.

Off the top of my head, the only times he's relied on troons was more out of necessity than anything.
The retro console dev community is an HRT swamp, you can't swing a dead cat around there without smacking a few of them. Figures at least one would get swept up in the Petscii Robots porting project.
The one who did the Tomy robot repair was 1) relatively local, and 2) probably one of the few people in the entire world who specialize in the Tomy Omnibot/Robbie robots.
The one who worked on the C128, idk. Later Commodores can be a bitch to work on so that troon is probably just someone from his local retro user group who volunteered to help. David doesn't seem like the kind of guy to turn down free help like that.

If anyone's looking for more hardware-focused YouTube content, there's a few good channels in Russia. (YouTube can automatically translate the subtitles into English)
Alexey Morozov has a video series on building the USSR's first homebuilt computer using 1980's construction techniques.
I'll have to check that out.

Whilst on the topic of Soviet computers, The Clueless Engineer appears to have Australia's largest collection of vintage Eastern Bloc machines along with a bunch of other rare 8-bit oddities. Worth a watch if you want something similar to Alexey Morozov, but you can't do subtitles.

That guy's a bit of alright. Don't know why he doesn't get more play, really. Down to earth, has some skills. Kind of a sperg.

Does good stuff with the Jap computers sometimes too.

Probably because he isn't American or a Brit who panders to American audiences. The only Aussie who is tangentially related to old computers with a large channel is EEVBlog, but he started back before The Algorithm became the behemoth it is today.

It is very amusing to me how the script’s flipped on EVs.

I’m still saying the battery tech isn’t there for them to actually supplant normal cars, personally.
EVs are some of the most advanced coal powered cars on the planet. I can understand they're lower maintenance, faster and easier to work on (well the non-Tesla ones. Tesla has Apple levels of repairability. It's impossible to buy most parts for them). But lithium mining is fucking horrible for the environment. One domestic product coming back to the US is battery manufacturing, but every area that has a new lithium mine has horrific air quality. It's going to do far more environment damage than pulling petrol out of the ground and burning it. Especially since 100% of "climate change" predictions have been wrong, CO2 makes up 0.03% of the atmosphere, and we've still haven't reached peak oil.

I will say the FDS tech looks impressive in this video. It's come a long way from driving onto railroad tracks and crashing into barriers. But it's still an iterative experiment that's being tested out on real roads. I would never buy one because none of my cars connect to the Internet and I refuse to buy anything new enough with a permanent cell modem, and even Murray admits it's only been this good in the most recent iterations. Previous versions allowed people to fall asleep if they kept a hand on the wheel, before the updates aggressively forced eye tracking.

You clearly missed the bit where he drove past another Tesla whose driver was obviously drunk and sticking both her feet out the window:

So much for "driver awareness detection".

I asked a friend with a Tesla about this and he swears the drunk girl still has to be looking at the camera. He said you can have your feet or fucking dick out the window so long as your eyes are pointed up. He cancelled FSD, but found it annoying you couldn't look away from the road (like it would beep if he spent too much time looking at the rear view mirror).

He's an Elon bro so maybe he's exaggerating. I've never driven a car with lane assist, so I have no idea.

Its such an uncomfortable position too. But then again, the world continues to amaze me by introducing even more retarded people behind the wheel.

There isn't much about Fran Blanche on the farms. My initial impressions before knowing about the troonery.... The hair. It always looked unnatural, sickly, and thin. Not attractive looking at all. Most woman would know when to switch to a shorter age appropriate hair style when their body can't support healthy looking long hair.

The show and tell level presentation of the videos are bit shallow and lacking in depth. EEVblog and bigclive go deep to theory and schematics, but most look beyond this because this is a "woman" talking electronics and part of the novelty of the channel.

Then in some videos I noticed "she" was going into full blown pity solicitation mode from time to time. Some women do this, but almost all stinkditches do.

After knowing about the troonery, it all made sense. Goes to show that an actual woman having any intermediate or above knowledge in computers or electronics doesn't actually exist in nature. If you find one there is 95% chance "she" had dick and balls at one point.
You seriously didn't spot that this was a troon? This dude has been popping up in my recommends for years, and the only video I've ever clicked on was the one where he whined full of self pity for ages because searching on line for his name led to Google's auto-completion offering a thousand and one variants of "Is Fran Blanche a tranny" And I'm sure that back then his profile page on You Tube talked about his other hobby which was making corsets. All cleaned up now, so it seems.
