That's kind of the running theme, though, isn't it?
I'm reminded of something
@Smutley said, and I'm pretty much paraphrasing here, but if GG
was all about death threats and harassment (and
terrorism, according to Dan Olson), then you'd think it would get less shit at it.
But the thing is, it's pretty much exactly like you said, Pardew: From Quinn on downwards, they've been exactly what they complain about since day one. It's why I lost count on the "Anti-GGer turns out to be a sexual predator" number around 23 or so (
especially when two more got caught today). It's why anyone with five seconds and a search engine of their choice can find like fucking hundreds of cases of GGers being sent death threats and harassment, but the FBI and multiple investigations weren't able to find more than a handful of allegedly-GG accounts that were doing the same back to Anti-GGers (and the ones that the FBI
did catch sending death threats were third-party trolls).
At this point it's clear that GG's alleged "harassment" it performed was a case of what I now refer to as Ghostbusters Fallacy -
an infintessimally small minority being artificially inflated to ridiculous levels to fulfill a narrative. We already know from WAM's investigation that this was the case, as using GGAutoblocker as a control, Women Action Media found that less than 0.66% of all accounts using the hashtag actually constituted "harassing."
What weirds me out is that by now, they
have to know that their entire side is based on fabricated bullshit. There's no denying it at this point. They've been caught in the act so many times conducting harassment that they can't
not know it. Yet even to this day, long after continuing the charade ceased being profitable, they're
still pushing this crap, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out
why.
