The CoPP ruled on Zac's Campaign Finance Complaint (Link). It is 28 pages long and written in 100% legal speak. It is very dense and wading through this particular variety of bullshit is not my forte so I encourage anyone with this set of skills to chime in. The short version is the vast majority of the complaint was dismissed, but Zac did get dinged on two points. First, he had 5 individual contributors donate more than legally allowed so Zac's campaign needs to refund the excess contributions. Second, Zac's campaign treasurer needs to fill out a form to formally declare themself. If you recall when this all started Zac tried to pull a "new phone who dis" and say he did not receive repeated requests to close his 2022 campaign account before opening the 2024 account. He claimed communications were sent to an outdated email address (an address that is still on his website). The woman who eventually responded to the CoPP was Emily Harris at Abbey Lee Cook & Associates, however, Zac is listed as his own campaign's treasurer but Abbey Lee Cook's email is listed as the treasurer's contact email in the CoPP portal. So basically, they need to straighten that shit out and clarify who is who with a form. Zac also was asked to better clarify expenses like Jamie Van Valkenburg's salary because claiming "scheduling" and then providing no proof of what was being scheduled is too vague. Zac didn't get hit too hard on this point because the Commissioner conceded the previous administration was looser in his enforcement of this, so the Commish gave Zac a warning and told him to 'do better'.
Zac has until November 27th, 2023 to return the excess money and fill out a form, failure to do this will get the complaint moved up the chain. So as predicted this ended up a big nothing burger.

Why not? People change their names all the time for different reasons. I choose women changing their names upon marriage as just an example. Its not considered a hate crime to call someone by a former name unless that person is a troon. Why does their name change mean more than anyone else's?
