He did exactly what I expected he would do with his "fact check: false" of the WPATH leak - he picked through the introduction and write-up and almost completely ignored the actual substance of the document, which were the leaks themselves. Tony misses the point yet again.

In any other field of medicine, such a high fatality rate would result in the experiment instantly being halted and carefully studied to investigate what went wrong.” A review of the citation reveals a single case report of a death which occurred from a wound infection, a potential complication for any surgery. What the report leaves out, however, are that there are many recent studies designed to look at surgical complication rates, including a much newer study with a sample size of 366 patients and only 2 who experienced “major complications,” with no deaths.

So where's the "factual error" Tony? You agree that the single death represents 2% of the cohort studied. You seem to be in agreement with the author on one of the first of your "inaccuracies." Hardly an inaccuracy, then. What he doesn't like is the comparison to other fields of medicine. For Tony, saving gendered souls is of such crucial importance that it should be valued above life itself and pursued at all costs.

If the patient is distressed by it, it's a bad thing. Now, obviously there's not much that can be done about it, so the only answer is to tell them to deal with it, but that won't stop the distress.

I feel like they should do a much better job explaining what post-mutilation is going to be like, like they'll still ejaculate fluid. I am a young gen X, but I know what you mean. I vaguely remember the trannies on daytime drama shows, probably because my mom never watched them so I wasn't really paying attention. But I know if they were ~always there~ like Tony claims, then they wouldn't have been on those TV shows to be mocked like the rest of the trash, because we'd be used to them. Men with AGP have probably always been here, but it was very very rare for them to perform in public.

Only their wives knew, a tweet I saw a couple months ago was from a woman who claimed to be working with a local chapter of a cross-dressing community decades ago. She said that during her time there over 250 distressed women came through looking for advice and support.

I don't know, I think it's important to distinguish crossdressing and other forms of gender bending from transgenderism proper.

Yes, plenty of cultures have experimented with gender bending and cross dressing. But I think there's a stronger level of literalism that troonery brings to the table that is pretty novel in human society.

Post transition, she was about the same distance away from the female record. Katie Ladecki, she is literally occupying, post transition, the exact same place in the sense that, relatively speaking to the top performer in her gender on either side, pre and post transition. Post transition. So there's this idea that she was a mediocre male swimmer pre transition. And that also is not true, because in 2018 to 2019, her very first year, she ranked twelveth in the nation on the 1011th on another race, 30 eigth on another race.

You see, at the end of her freshman year, she started hormone therapy and her numbers tanked because as we learned, looking at the other study, you lose time. We saw a 33% drop in some of the race times, for instance. And so she lost time, quite a bit of time, and she was no longer near able to compete with male athletes. And so now we turn to enforcement, because this is also a really important matter whenever it comes to trans participation in sports. How do you enforce the laws? So we're going to go over a few methods that have been proposed. How do we actually test who's allowed to play? And what effects does that have? This doesn't just affect trans people. This also affects cisgender people as well. So here are some of the ideas that have been proposed, and many of these have failed genital exams. Now, these are incredibly invasive. They have been proposed, and they've actually been tried before.

In fact, very famously, in the 1966 Olympics for sex verification in sports, they had the nude parade, where they would make women walk in a line nude so that often men would judge their genitals and determine if they were cisgender women. Now, of course, this didn't work. There's a reason why this was scrapped. Intersex people exist. Ambiguous genitalia exist. Post op trans women exist. Secondarily, what would be the purpose, for instance, of using genitals as a defining characteristic? Whenever it comes to the sports, they have very little involvement in actual performance.

I don't have much to say about any of this, as we've covered it all before. Males as a category have physical advantages over females as a category, and this is seen even in pre-pubertal children. More importantly, women should be able to have single-sex services without men. (Even in chess.)

Lastly, every time Tony talks about "genital inspections" or whatever, it is purely for its shock value. At an elite level, athletes already submit blood and urine tests for doping, so there's no reason why sex testing cannot be done on these samples in a lab.
