It might have to do with his "facial feminization surgery" - I think PhilosophyChoob has a similar thing going on around the area of his mouth post-FFS.

He's one of the most upsetting AGPs to me due to how ridged and constructed his apperance is. It's like how Erin Reed is utterly controling of the angles he's taken photos of, except the heavy use of filters and even more intense plastic surgery with the rigidity makes him well, horribly uncanny. His insecurity is off the charts, I'm used to Erin Reed but it is quite similar. He'd melt if someone photographed him or saw him from an angle he didn't want to be seen.

At least Erin Reed decided not to photoshop the fuck out of his photos. Drennen feels like he's trying to gaslight me out of reality.

Former Prime Minister Liz Truss brought a Private Member's Bill that would make it a criminal offence to provide puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones to a child, and would bar public bodies (ie schools) from treating a child as the opposite sex.

The way the House of Commons works is that almost all time is reserved for the government to bring its own bills, but there is a very small amount of time where individual MPs can bring bills (a Private Member's Bill).

Since 1983 there have only been 340 successful Private Members' Bills in the Commons, and since they go through the same process as government bills, they only pass with government support. (The UK government is formed by the party or coalition of parties with the most MPs, ie the most votes in parliament. There isn't the legislative/executive split present in the US.)

All that is to say that Truss's bill was a very long shot, and that's even before you factor in that Truss herself is not a popular figure in the Tory party (shortest-serving PM in history, trying to boost her profile via the "anti-woke" scene in the US), and the Tories are themselves split on the trans issue.

It also seems that, with the Cass Review and the changes at NHS England, the government is presently happy for this to be seen as "experts figuring it out" without political meddling.

In short: While I am sympathetic to the aims of Truss's bill, I didn't even read it until just now, because it was never going to pass, and seemed aimed more at boosting Truss's profile than anything else. Certainly not a "big victory/defeat" worthy of a 1,000-word blog post, just inconsequential.

Weber State University was founded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Weber Stake Academy in 1889. "Weber" comes from the name of the county where the university is located. Weber County was named after John Henry Weber, an early fur trader. The university opened for students in 1889 with 98 students enrolled for classes on January 7. The first principal of Weber Stake Academy was Louis F. Moench; he served from 1889 to 1892 and again from 1894 to 1902. In the latter year, Moench was succeeded as principal by David O. Yes, UK TRAs are in a state of panic, largely self-induced. They have all convinced themselves that they are targeted by Fascists in a culture war to distract the masses etc... Pure campfire stuff.

The truth is that Conservative politicians here have got kids' gloves on by comparison to GOP ones. They have jibed Labour politicians over refusing to define a woman etc... but it's a sideshow. There is now I believe a quiet consensus in our political class that children and teenagers have been failed by our NHS and that the trans pipeline needs to be shut down, but it's not being done in a very confrontational manner and there is still a long way to go.

NB: I am talking here about Westminster - Scotland has a very different political scene and the trans issue there is absolutely incendiary. But then everything is incendiary in Scotland - very excitable people live there.
