I know the Kiwi average age bracket probably skews a bit younger these days with the recent major floods, but to put it into a horrifying perspective for all you youngsters coming up in the world: My wife and I have a combined income in the ~250k range (less than 180k after taxes) and while we aren't hurting by any means we still have to budget, we still have to save and invest and can't just buy whatever we want whenever we want it or go on frequent frivilous vacations to expensive cities for short periods of time to "own the h8erz". Things are only getting more expensive as money becomes less and less valuable and it's likely only going to get tougher, especially for the youngest among us, to reach that mythic plateau of financial independence.

I love this about the Ralph lore and how similar it is to DSP. With both of them, it's almost infuriating to know how much they make, but when you realize how they squander it it's just hilarious, you can't even be mad they're making so much because no matter how much they made, whether it was $100 or $100000 these people (like DSP or Ralph) will always find a way to blow it.

As others have shown, most of the donations are sent anonymously (>$25k), which in all likelihood are what Ralph would submit them as if he were to do so himself. I doubt he's going to burn whatever % in fees Powerchat takes though when he can just manually lie on the on-screen ticker. The average individual dono amount is $5.20, and there are 6,251 donor names.

The plot on the left shows the density of $ sent over a paypig's lifetime, and has some of the worst offenders labelled. The average paypig sends $30, though there are clearly a few pig-whales keeping him going.

Ohers mentioned that donation times might be worthwhile to look into for anything weird. The two plots on the right show the time distributions of donations by either the top 10 paypigs, and compared to all donors. Though bear in mind the TZ might be off, as I just took values from the txt file and cba to learn Ralph's schedule. There's not really a big difference in donation times other than Neon Nicker donates quite a lot later than the others, though it's not hugely standout when looked at in context of the other donors.

That being said, let's do some back of the napkin calculations:

$186,079.28 in non-test donos, which is all legally taxable income.

$148,863.42 after Powerchat's 20% take

$126,087.32 after payroll taxes. Since he is self employed, he is required to pay the entire 15.3% payroll tax instead of the 7.65% employee rate.

Assuming he files (lol) married filing jointly with 1 child tax credit, and takes the standard deduction (I have no idea what his itemized deductions would be, and I doubt he bothers anyway) his total federal tax burden alone is $24,473. I seriously doubt he contributes to an IRA so I don't see him receiving a retirement savings credit. He obviously doesn't give a shit about health so he's not going to get an HSA tax credit either.

Total estimated income after Powerchat's take, payroll taxes, and federal income tax: $101,614.32.

Now, I have no insight into his local tax situation, but just for shits let's look at it if he still lived in Virginia: that's another $9,764, again, assuming married filing jointly claiming Rozy.

Which brings the total estimated take home income to $91,850.32.
