So I have seen throughout the years a plethora of fedora-tipping videos of atheists ranting and raving. If you're an atheist - more power to you, but some of these videos are really cringeworthy
I think there was a thread on CultofDusty, but he's fairly exceptional as well
Of course reddit is big into it

Any experience with exceptional atheists?

This is why I stick with the smaller, lesser known atheist channels. There are even those who have called out the militant atheist types and ilk on their shit as well. I can't stand these assholes you're talking about. The first video is especially douche chill worthy.

I know of one guy who used his atheism as an excuse to mildly disrespect Christian beliefs by refusing to say his graces at the dinner table. The guy was also an all around douche from what my friend's been feeding me from him, there was shit like just treating people poorly and others I'll have to remember later.

I've met a few people like this. It's why I keep my personal beliefs (or lack thereof) private. One guy I used to date for a few months was a follower of this guy.

So according to this dweeb if you're an agnostic you're a fence-sitting coward.

Oh my God. I can't stand this twit either. He's one of those anarcho-capitalist fuckers. Look up defooing if you ever have time by the way.

Never saw this video by him but I'm sure it's filled with the same kind of nonsense and rubbish that permeates throughout his other videos too.

Anarcho-capitalists are so obnoxious.

My ex freaking worships this guy. I could go on about him but I'd be revealing my power level as it were.

But why do you have to respect religious beliefs if you aren't religious? Sorry if I sound like a douche but I don't care about religious feelings at all since there is no proof that their various deities exist. Of course if I visit a religious country I will not tell the people there how I really feel because I'm a just tourist.

but.. but.. what? you can be an atheist and an agnostic
i'm both
i mean, technically i am sitting on the fence, but i sit on the fence because i'm skeptical of theism and hard-atheism

also i'm glad i stopped going to atheism forums before atheism-plus showed up

Yeah, agnostic atheists are pretty common place. There are a lot of atheists online who blast religion anyways even if they are also agnostic.

Honestly I still think I lean more towards the agnostic side of things sometimes. I really don't care about what others believe in as long as they don't try to use legislation to force their beliefs on someone else but I also really don't like the people who try to use atheism to be dicks to other people that don't agree with them.

Ugh, militant atheists make me cringe so hard, and that's coming from another atheist. Then again, I align more with agnostic atheism, since I don't give enough of a shit about the subject to adamantly believe or not believe in something. One just has to live with the fact that every group is going to have stupid people who think they're more "enlightened" than the rest.

Four words: Mommy and Daddy issues.

I'm pretty much in camp "I-don't-know-if-there's-a-god-and-I-don't-fucking-care." So I guess just plain ole' agnostic. It doesn't really matter to me much either way.

I feel like a lot of militant atheists had some bad experiences with religion in their childhood, which might explain why they harp on it so much. It's very much a personal issue to them. I went to a Catholic school for about two years and it pretty much kick-started my questioning of religion (also I was in middle school so I guess that factored in as well). I know The Amazing Atheist, who's got his own thread, has talked about his rather traumatic experiences with religion growing up.

I really don't see this kind of fervor from atheists who were brought up in secular families.

Maybe this is a regional thing that's taken far more seriously in some places than others, but where I live (upper midwest) religious people are usually pretty laid back about stuff like this and wouldn't take it as an insult if you refuse to participate in blessing a meal, as long as you're not making farting sounds with your armpit or something while they're doing it.
