It is always a good idea to have a party.
And especially if you live in a part of the world where it is rally boring, cold and dark in the winter...at least I'm always in for a party or four at that time. The more the merrier!
And the christians gave up making the locals in my area call it christmas back in around 1600.

Great explanation of the situation, @Vitriol. I had vaguely heard about the Free Thought Blogs situation a few years ago but didn't make the full connection between that and why a lot of prominent YouTube atheists like Thunderf00t and Sargon focus a lot on anti-femnism and talking about SJWs and those extremists on their channels.

That would be bound to happen. They'd say it's proof when there is no god despite the fact you can have Muslims who believe there are aliens and Christians who believe in evolution. Science is open to all regardless of faith.

But then how could they feel intellectually superior to all religious people? It's so much easier to pretend that science is exclusively reserved for those who hate any form of faith. No matter how much actual scientists may protest!

I could go on and on about Steve Shives. I've followed him for a few years now.

The best word I can use to describe Steves Shives is "smug". The guy had a very large ego and he automatically assumes his own intellectual and moral superiority before even addressing your argument. As a result he has confirmation bias a mile wide and completely ignores very valid arguments directed at him.
The guy has a long running video series called "5 stupid things" where he talks about how certain things are stupid. And the amount of pretentiousness and condescension in his voice is startling. Much like other SJW's he refuses to debate or even acknowledge a point against his argument.

Sargon did a very good rebuttal to Steve Shives here. He also challenged him to a debate but it's near impossible it's going to happen.

Steve Shives's response to this video was to block him.

It's kind of sad since Steve Shives's religion videos are usually pretty good with their analysis. It's just a shame his skepticism is like an off switch he turns off whenever it inconveniences him.
