Holy fuck, I just struck it rich. I came across a post asking why Christians in the Middle East, who are often horrifically persecuted, fly under the radar of most Westerners and this truly exceptional individual felt the need to put forth a response:

RELIGITARD
Often I have noticed that Euphorics believe that atheism necessarily implies nationalism is illegitimate
They don't realize that Christians have historical ties to each other independent of the religion itself

Many Christians in the Middle East have ties to the region that go back centuries. The Egyptian Copts are believed to be the direct descendants of ancient Egyptians; the Assyrians are descended from one of the oldest civilizations in the world, dating at 2500 BC in ancient Mesopotamia, making them one of the oldest and longest surviving ethnic and cultural groups in Asia; the Armenians were among the earliest Christians in the world and have been in the Middle East for over 2,000 years; Arab Christians are those who retained their Christian faith even after the rise of Islam. Their ties to the region and to each other may have some religious elements, but like the Jews it's also very much an ethnic and cultural thing.

All of these groups are horribly fucking persecuted, by the way.

I come baring cringey gifts.

Why is it that Euphorics always think that somehow they can extend not believing in a god into value judgements about politics. Very little in politics, even in the islamic world is directly predicated upon the existence or nonexistence of a deity. They seem to believe that the fact value distinction is somehow resolved by atheism

It's an interesting point and sadly all that I can say in response is Autism.

You are forgetting that, as Euphoric Atheists keep reminding us, they're much smarter than we are. So their opinions on every topic are more enlightened.

I've seen similar memes in social media. I'm incredibly amused that the consistent message is that we should force people to abandon religion, because then we won't have violence over religion.

...And no one recognizes the contradiction.

@RedneckQuadFeed

I tried to come up with something witty to say, but the fact that those guys decided the best way to present their stance on a serious issue was via memes is funny enough to stand on its own. Especially since they presumably expect to be taken seriously.

Wow, these memers are definitely approaching Dante of Edgy May Cry levels...

Also, this cracked me up:

Descartes is still revered as one of the most influential philosophers and mathematicians today. He was also a man of science and is considered to be one of the greatest geniuses of the 17th century. Even if you don't know who Descartes is, almost everyone is familiar with the phrase/concept "I think, therefore I am" ("cogito ergo sum"), which Descartes coined.

But of course he was wrong and all of his contributions to human knowledge because he was stupid enough to believe God exists.

Nice and subtle -- the best way to do it.

By that logic, they'd have to reject the Big Bang theory, because Georges Lemaitre was a Catholic priest.
