@Mrs Paul & @Blake Bumbleby -Oh... well, I didn't know that about Mother Teresa. Jeez, that's messed up. The only thing I actually knew about her was that she was a really old Catholic activist.
Most people don't know that about her. That's the problem with putting people on a pedestal...it ignores the very real faults they had.

Pfft, quoting fictional characters is nothing. I've seen people quote themselves before.

If we took this kind of argument to its logical conclusion, no one's allowed to enjoy life as long as there exists starving children in Africa.

In regards to that Crusades one, the Crusades itself are events that have their own complexity. Wasn't it said the Seljuks, a Muslim group, weren't entirely clean? Even then, it's not like wars back then followed formal rules such as the Geneva Convention. and that Bigot Vanquisher image just comes off as an edgy shit-post, being less good than that of the advice animals that use Jesus or God.

Just some more evidence of what a sanctimonious prat Fucky Gervais is. The guy hasn't been relevant since 2008, so he's gotta do a Dawkins.

I've noticed that atheists who were formerly religious and/or raised in a religious environment are oftentimes way more obnoxious that atheists/agnostics who have just never been religious in the first place. It's like they're desperately trying to prove themselves and it comes off as really cringey.

Although the merit of the Non-Overlapping Magisteria as a theory is up for debate it is clear that most people believe in it. Regardless of what their religion or lack thereof actually advocates most people at least try to be decent people and accept a large portion of science (and many atheists reject a large portion of science too)

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but when Christians are weak in their faith, they either completely shut out religion talk or go overboard. The overboard ones think something is wrong to have doubts, so they fight twice as hard to persuade themselves they are right. Atheists are the same way.

That's pretty much true of anyone who switches to a new religion, though. Converts are ALWAYS much more zealous than someone who grew up in a certain religion/non-religion. They've finally Seen The Light. Fortunately most of them calm down after a while. MOST. The ones who don't though...ugh.
