I laugh at the idea of redditors smugly entering hell. What would the hell of a euphoric be? Eternal Sunday school classes with kindly old ladies? Maybe with a little bit of jocks pushing them in lockers mixed in.

They will literally have nothing as far as I can surmise. To basically cease to exist or at best float in a void forever unable to reach heaven is probably the most likely punishment for many unbelievers in hell.I laugh at the idea of redditors smugly entering hell. Religiosity is actually skyrocketing among young Muslims.

Personally, I always liked/preferred the depictions of hell/bad afterlife where the punishments are tailor-made to one’s sins (the greedy being buried under a mountain of gold or being destitute beggars, the gluttonous being force-fed until they explode or starving for all eternity etc) rather than the usual burning in a fiery pit. I’ve always put great stock in the whole eye for an eye/contrapasso thing. That bad people should be punished in ways that remind then of their crimes and/or show them how their victims suffered. Dante's Inferno and the Greek version of hell, Tartarus, come to mind. They will literally have nothing as far as I can surmise. Wasn’t Satan originally one of God’s angels who got too full of himself and tried to overthrow the All mighty, only to get his ass whooped and banished from heaven? Though I suppose she would probably retort “well why didn’t the omniscient God forsee Lucifier betraying him” or something.
Satan's funny, because the one we're most familiar with only really appears in the New Testament as a bit part and it's outside works that flesh him out. Any references of the Old Testament are angels taking on a role specifically as an Accuser. They are supposed to accuse and try humans to either test their faith, or punish them for their crimes.Wasn’t Satan originally one of God’s angels who got too full of himself and tried to overthrow the All mighty, only to get his ass whooped and banished from heaven? So many bitter questions she doesn't want answered. So many assumptions. Imagine living like this every day because dad made you wake up for church when you were 5, and you're still upset.
Now, there are happy atheists, but it's usually despite that and not because of it, because face it, not believing there is any fundamental meaning in anything is some bleak fucking shit. I never got the "euphoric" concept. I miss believing in something. If I could just flip it on like a switch I would.Lol. Lmao, even.
Everything is a dick measuring contests with fedora tippers. It's not enough to be happy; you have to find a reason to justify feeling superior to others. I really wish it were possible to find the rates of Cluster-B disorders among the euphoric.
Feeling justified in being a dick/cunt is the entire point. So much bitterness for something that is out of our control. I would feel bad that this is the only thing going on for these people, but they are some of the biggest assholes. Does it matter if there's a God or not if the only thing these people will be remembered for is yelling at Christians on Twitter. If this is it why the hell are they not living it up as much as possible instead of wasting it being a dick to others.
That's only true in Judaism. The NT expanded and clarified on the Old. In this case it's made clear that you can't to do evil and be on God's side. Satan is used for various purposes, but it's not a job he's been charged with.Satan's funny, because the one we're most familiar with only really appears in the New Testament as a bit part and it's outside works that flesh him out. Theologically speaking, Satan himself could legit just be the most important angel in the role and never actually rebelled, since he was supposed to accuse others of their folly and punish them in the beyond.
The most obvious OT example would of course be the Book of Job, where the two come across more as asshole buddies than enemies.Satan's funny, because the one we're most familiar with only really appears in the New Testament as a bit part and it's outside works that flesh him out.
