Cut her some slack. People with a kid dying of cancer are not going to be entirely rational at all times. She may be just acting like a cunt because she's in an amazing amount of pain at the moment.

My first encounter was on YouTube. I remember watching those Atheist pubic access looking channels when these people would "debate" those would call in. They were so smug and arrogant. I think they were located in Texas.

I love how they're obsessed with "debate", but never seek out an opponent who's actually well-educated in the same topic. I'd love to see Jeremy Q. Neckbeard go up against Jacque Maritain.
 
I was looking at all the weird French Revolution religions on Wikipedia and somehow ended up on the page for a thing called the Sunday Assembly. Its basically Mass for atheists.

It's gatherings seem to have a pretty solid fedora to non-fedora ratio, but it could be better.

"Well if they aren't praying, what are they doing?" you might ask. Well, the service primarily seems to consist of singing "mainly pop songs" with Queen being mentioned specifically in multiple websites.

This group doesn't seem too euphoric anymore because they actually had their own schism within the group with the New York branch becoming a new group, "The Godless Revival" because they were pissed off that the assembly wasn't dedicated entirely to criticising theists. The Godless Revival describe their meetings as "a party with a brain".

All these articles and websites are from around 2014 so I don't even think these groups are active anymore, but I thought it was mildly interesting and worth sharing

Usually I see this sort of response by atheists after some sort of tragedy such as a school shooting, implying that the proper response would be activism to change the law in some way.

Of course, this completely ignores the fact that the tragedy has already occured and that those who give thoughts and prayers would much rather direct sympathy towards the family of the victim(s) rather than yell about gun control or whatever.
 
Religion equaling disease as written by someone who has malfunctioning brain meat. How lovely.
