Of course not it's not like we developed stuff like nukes, agent orange, explosives, the methods we see in death penalties (I'm not arguing about the morality of these I'm just saying the absence of religion wouldn't stop deadly things from happening)

Even without religion, we'll still find ways to screw each other over. Religion is just one of the many things we have that we can fight over.

Uh, no. Most atheists nowadays are so against religion because they've been gaslighted to be so. If you are only ever exposed to the negative about something and are constantly told that it's bad, you are going to hate it. You could say it's a form of brainwashing. (Ironic, right?)

I'm amazed at how Buzzfeed managed to combine atheist and holocaust propaganda in the same video, really just the cherry on the top

Also it's interesting to sit down and try to think what exactly the purpose of this story was, especially in this day and age where this is normal and choosing not to be religious is normal and non problematic

If that's Jim Jones, here's a little reminder: Jim did away with Christianity. He literally threw the Bible and said he didn't even get struck with lightning after disparaging it.
Can't find the recording for it but wiki-quotes can back that up.

There exist a video on Youtube that covers it though it's pretty long and I haven't seen it but I wouldn't be surprised if it includes Jim Jones throwing the bible and saying there is no god that zaps him for throwing the book.

It's also mentioned in one of the documentaries on Jonestown.
It's long but definitely an interesting watch.

This sort of thing would have one realize that maybe Jim Jones isn't really a Christian after say throwing the Bible and simply went full-on cult leader once he realized he had an iron grip on the people.
