For people who mock Christians for "HURR DURR ONLY READING ONE BOOK"they do a terrible job READING THAT BOOK

Anyone ever noticed the amount of Atheists who become Satanists, do the whole ritual thing (that they usually previously mocked and hated) but apparently aren't theistic, while also outwardly worshipping a deity, while denying that they are because "it's all theoretical and pretend and part of our doctrine!"
but they're still a completely atheistic religion, guys!

:late: by almost four years, but holy shit man- I used to live right near (like, meters away from) their "manor" and my mother went to school with a bunch of them in their heyday. I used to go out bushwalking behind the house i lived in (afaik they'd also owned the house next-door and pretty much the whole road) and would find trees with chains attached to them and all sorts of horrible set ups like that. I hope your great uncle came out of it OK

Most Satanists are just atheists who are mad that they weren't edgy enough to get attention for it, so they engage in the most pompous and boring manner of trying to shock the normies that they can find.
 
In Greece, the Union of Atheists every year on Good Friday (the day that Jesus died on the cross), have a feast with souvlakia (gyros) and beers in a souvlaki shop in Thissio (part of historical centre of Athens).
In Good Week, people tend to avoid meat and some fast (no animal products at all), so this is their edgy move.

Every year, people ignore them. Because it's a tourist area and people eat souvlakia every day, duh. Untill, last year. An Orthodox metropolitan bishop said in media: "I hope they'll get holes in their stomaches".

So they were basically "we're eating a sandwich, theists" and then the bishop actually got assblasted about it enough to say that?

More like "haha, we meet up annually to mock your beliefs eating delicious pork, idiots" and this bishop is basically a lolcow, and one reporter asked him to say his opinion for this "feast" and atheists used it to cry about it for days. Glorious. I mean, eating gyros in a tourist souvlaki shop is no big deal, nobody will attack you. Outside tourist areas, souvlaki shops are usually closed for 3 days (Good Wednesday-Friday). Not because of the backlash but because only few eat meat that week.

The best part is when lefties say thier satanists to trigger the Christians as the Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey was heavily based on Randian philosophy
