I think this shit is just part of a scam. An easy way to collect naive peoples vital information and assess whether they are worth targeting further. What easier way to get peoples birth dates and find out if they have any savings than to have the super gullible just flat out tell you?
Con-artist astrologers/palm-readers/et alia have used this technique forever (since pre-biblical times), it's a logical move to take it to Skype from the carnivals and dark alleyways.
